[ There's a decision to be made here, whether he tells Lien to run and hide while he prevents the Horseman from getting on his ride, or whether he finds her and tries to get off this bridge, the both of them together. It's not a choice he can afford to think about at length, and he decides, after a moment of consideration, that it's not his style to leave a girl hanging.

He has terrible luck with situations involving women, really.

Cutting through the mist with his lance, he finally finds Lien in the fog and hauls her up by her arm, half-carrying her as he starts making his way towards the end of the bridge.
