OC POST
![]() MUSELIST Photo Credit: This a post where it's mainly my OCs and there are various scenarios, mostly having to do with the Midnight Grind Cafe, owned by Iona Jacqueline Oakes and her mysterious handsome golem man, Oren. Their cafe connects to almost every universe so a lot of silly stuff can happen. I'll write some prompts for my OCs or we can plot together and go in another direction. Nikola Chang | Snake Eyes
[Nikola's become a regular of the Midnight Grind lately. Her drinks vary from visit to visit, ranging anywhere from sweet to bitter, and everything in between. In contrast, her lunch/late night dinner order has been mostly consistent.
So if you happen to be visiting late at night, you'll see Oren bring out a carb-laden plate of black bean noodles with a luxurious amount of toppings and a dry-faced young woman eagerly eyeing the meal. One can only tell she's excited by the way her eyes glint as the steam rises from the plate.
If she catches you looking, there's an awkward pause of sorts before she speaks up and says:]
If you want something and you don't know if they have it on the menu, just ask. I'm sure they got enough to make the same thing I'm having if that's what you're thinking about.
B) Suddenly Part of Your World
[There's a lovely pastel lolita dress that Nikola's had her eye on, but after looking at her bank account and realizing it's a little over budget, she inwardly groans. This just means she'll have to take on an extra client or two in order to cover costs for her hobby, rent, AND taking care of her dog. Being an adult is hard, especially in a world where people clearly don't pay enough for her to put herself in danger when exploring the void.
The raiding is going rather well until a mirror in one of the buildings catches her eye. As if her body decides to move on its own, she touches it...
And falls straight through it, onto the floor of whoever is unfortunate enough to have a small masked lady crash into their residence.]
...
...
... [Nikola stands up straightening out her mussed up hair and readjusts her lopsided mask. She stares unnervingly at whoever is in front of her and then holds up her fingers.]
Peace, peace.
[Well, she doesn't mean harm at least.]
C) Wildcard/Other
[Something, something, happens.]
B
Menphina's left tit! Get off me!!
[ He'll scramble to stand, pushing her off if she won't move, and becomes apparent pretty quickly that Nikola isn't in Kansas anymore since her unwitting landing pad is a young man with feline ears and a tail to match. He eyes her critically, one hand resting on the hilt of the eastern-style blade sheathed at his hip. ]
Who the hells are you?
no subject
[She lets the man she landed on push her off and Nikola rolls on her side before pushing herself up to her knees and looks up to examine the figure before her. The LED light on her mask, with its giant white 'X', blinks due to some partial damage and her dark eyes narrow at his appearance. Not the most unusual she's seen (she's been to conventions, she gets the look), but still very far out there. And of course, she's assessing the weapon he has at his side. Her own hand hovers over her knife although she's not counting on it being a fair fight versus a longer blade.]
... Hn.
[The silence drags on for a good 10 seconds before she speaks up.]
Hey.
[She gestures at her own head and taps it in the general area where his own ears are.]
You got a little something on your head. You might wanna have it checked out.
[It's said with much urgency... AKA, with none whatsoever. Her tone of voice is so flat that it's hard to tell whether she's being serious or sincere in this case. Or if she's just trying to pull his leg.]
no subject
The extended silence is making him anxious, his grip on the hilt of his katana tightening by slow degrees, but to his credit, he keeps his patience, waiting for her to speak or make a move. When she does speak, she... insults his ears? Already he doesn't like this girl, and he grits his teeth, fangs flashing. ]
Rich, coming from someone with something on her face.
[ Some sort of weird... blinking... thing. What is happening right now. ]
Are you gonna answer my question or what?
no subject
[At his remark, she removes her mask revealing...!! A fairly normal face. There's barely any levity in her facial expressions and she continues to stare at Cat Man unnervingly.]
I'm alive, and you're not dead or injured. I think that's a good start, so maybe don't have your fingers dance around your sheath.
[There's a pause. She looks to the side, muttering under her breath, something to the effect of, "That didn't sound wrong did it...?"
She coughs into her fist and stands up, crossing her arms defiantly.]
Okay, forget about that. Name's Nikola and I think I should be getting back home.
no subject
So, no, he doesn't take his hand away from his weapon, and he doesn't relax. ]
And home is where? In a tree?
no subject
Dunno. Never seen these trees before. I fell through a mirror. Sounds weird I know, but I'm telling this to a boy with a pair of animal ears and a tail, so I'm taking my chances.
no subject
What, never seen a Miqo’te before? Have you been living under a rock?
[ True, there are certain corners of the world where Miqo’te are scarce to nonexistent, but they’re in the middle of the Twelveswood right now, and Miqo’te are a pretty regular sight in this neck of the literal woods. ]
Why would a mirror dump you in the woods, anyhow?
no subject
Gesundheit. And no, I live under my covers on a good day.
[As for his question, she proceeds to take in their surroundings before answering him as she nonchalantly puts her mask back on. The LED seems to have straightened itself out.]
Maybe the mirror didn't like my face. Anyway... I'm not too comfortable being in a forest.
[The girl looks Luka unflinchingly in the eyes.]
You gonna help me out or what? I gave you my name so that's only fair right?
no subject
Give me one good reason why I should.
[ Help her or give her his name? Either, or both, probably. ]
no subject
Oops, her gaze wandered to his ears, no time to be distracted now.]
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
[Nikola raises her hand and points behind Luka. Is it a distraction? A desperate move? A brain power shortage?]
I'll help you kill that.
no subject
He’s about ready to call her bluff for a pretty poor attempt at a distraction, but the tell-tale sound of something large shoving itself through the underbrush reaches his ears soon enough. He half-turns, and sure enough, there wandering its way onto the path is a massive boar, a good couple of feet taller than Luka at the shoulder. It spots the pair of them, and, apparently taking them for trespassers in its territory, tenses to charge. ]
Oh, hells.
no subject
[Nikola is calm, but there's an undercurrent of anticipation as she assesses the boar (it isn't like any boar she's ever seen). Tough hide, large tusks and teeth, not to mention all that meat that's under its hide...]
It's got a lot of parts, huh? I'll split even with you, 50-50.
[She's raring to go already!]
no subject
Survive first and then we’ll talk.
[ Forgetting that this girl supposedly fell through a mirror and probably has very little use for Eorzean gil, he really is taking his remark about “survive first” seriously. At least Nikola is armed, and seems to know what she’s doing with that knife, so he’ll trust that she can fight for now. If he has to save her arse, though, he will never let her hear the end of it.
The boar charges, kicking up a cloud of dust in its wake. Fast and agile, Luka leaps out of the way, and somehow in the midst of the motion, draws his sword. The creature thunders past and Luka swipes his blade at the animal’s leg in an attempt to hobble it. It works a bit, sending the boar stumbling, but it’s not out of the fight by a long shot. ]
no subject
[Nikola is rolling out of the way to avoid the cloud of dust and she's quite thankful for putting her mask back on. What she regrets, is not taking a bigger knife with her as Cerise insisted. Oh, well. Back to the good ol' fallback of improvisation.
She sprints towards a tree and jumps to grab a branch, swinging herself so she squats down it. As the boar stumbles from Luka's strike, it ends up beneath her. Nikola takes the chance to unsheathe her knife and then jump down and onto the boar's back. The monster does not take kindly to her, but before it can shake her off, Nikola manages to stab the corner of its eye and then leap up and off the angered boar and onto another neighboring tree branch.
Nikola yells down to Luka.]
Make sure it's facing me! It's still got both eyes and that's more than enough.
no subject
What’s that supposed to mean?!
[ But he is curious, and it’s not like they have much of a choice. With the thing thrashing around in pain like it is, Luka can’t hope to get close enough to hamstring the beast without catching a face-full of hoof for his troubles.
The boar sets its sights on Luka, drawn by the sound of his voice and the bright colors of his garb. Well, works for him. The Miqo’te smirks, blade held at the ready and body tensing. All at once, he springs forward, dashing into the boar’s space with surprising speed. His katana flashes, arcing upward in a quick strike that cuts a deep, diagonal gash across the boar’s snout. The beast squeals and rears, trying to gauge Luka with its tusks, but he’s too quick, dancing away in the direction of Nikola’s perch. ]
