OC POST
![]() MUSELIST Photo Credit: This a post where it's mainly my OCs and there are various scenarios, mostly having to do with the Midnight Grind Cafe, owned by Iona Jacqueline Oakes and her mysterious handsome golem man, Oren. Their cafe connects to almost every universe so a lot of silly stuff can happen. I'll write some prompts for my OCs or we can plot together and go in another direction. [She's being playful in her jabbing, honest!
Her drink is called a "Bramble." Gin, blackcurrant liqueur, lemon, simple syrup, and lots of crushed ice. Monts seems a little amused that he's ordering the same thing as her.]
Speaking of, were you trying to find me or is this just an honest coincidence?

[It still stings a bit. He's a lonely detective, man... But it was true since he really should've watched his mouth more around girls.
Kojirou usually went for Wine, Whiskey or Bourbon... But he was in the mood to try out something different for tonight.]
If it was the former, then I'd be accused of stalking. It's more romantic to think of this as the red string of fate binding us.

[She sips her drink, rolling her eyes a bit.]
You don't strike me as the type.

[While she wouldn't be able to see it through his long shades of hair, Kojirou looks up at the ceiling before taking a sip from his drink.]
Though in the end, we had to go our separate ways. Her father had committed crimes that I couldn't overlook and he had to be arrested. He was the man who taught me everything I knew too.
no subject
What did her father do that you couldn't overlook? Must have been pretty bad.

[Kojirou himself won't say it out loud, but he did appericate her sympathy. He idly swirls his drink with the sounds of ice clacking together.]
Me, him and Yayoi had even started a detective agency together from the ground up. It felt like we were at the top of the world before all of that happened... It's funny. If I had turned a blind eye to everything that shithead was doing, then my life would've been a hell of a lot different.

Are you still on good terms with your ex or is it one of those awkward situations? I can't say I have a good track record myself.
[Neither could her track record be considered actual relationships themselves save for maybe one or two, but even then...]

[And rather casually, he sips his drink before his next statement.]
Her new boy toy's gonna get the full blunt of it.
no subject
[So she asks in a rather sardonic manner.]
Well, I'll give you this... Your story about your ex is much more interesting than anything I could talk about when it comes to my own experiences.

[Kojirou doesn't even hide his sly grin at his dirty comment. When was the last time that he gotten a good 'polishing'?
... ... ...
Anyway. He takes another swag from his drink before turning his head to face Monts.]
Try me. A dame like you has gotta have one or two stories to share.
no subject
[She's not taking that bait, thank you very much!
That being said, when he questions her, Monts lets out a small puff of breath before gesturing him towards the exit.]
It's too loud in here. Let's head out and I'll see if I feel like talking.
no subject
[It does catch him by suprise that she was wanting to step out. If it was this personal, then he would respect that. He'll stand up and leave a tip for the barkeeper before heading for the door. Whenever they're outside, Kojirou puts his hands in his pockets.]
How's this? Does the atmosphere feel better for ya?
no subject
Better. For all my clubbing I did back in the day, in the end, I'm kind of a boring person... I prefer walks at night. Now let's see...
[She chooses a random direction to walk in without any particular thought about where she wants to end up. The neon lights from signs and logos wash over her as the noise of the club starts to fade away.]
When it comes to me and relationships, I'm fairly unreliable. I think you can understand why.
[Having a monster under her skin... Or rather, just being a monster because of it, does put a damper on things.]

Wandering around the city was something that he found himself doing from time to time. The cool environment of the night always helped to piece his thoughts together whenever he was on a case. Hearing Monts says that makes him hum in acceptance as he walks next to her.]
Hm... Those abilities of yours ain't exactly something to pitch on a dating app. I'm still amazed how you've managed to avoid getting locked up in a laboratory somewhere.
[Kojirou had to wonder if he was going to encounter even more people like her. Ever since he met her and that cafe, it felt like he stepped into another world that existed beyond what he normally knew.]
no subject
[The nape of her neck houses the dark floral mark and it pulses beneath her skin laying dormant for now. She reaches up to rub the back it absentmindedly.]
No one tries to kill me often. The first time was an accident.
no subject
If you don't mind me asking... What exactly happened? Was your first "death" how you discovered that power?
no subject
[Her face is grim as she bluntly says:]
Anyways. The first time happened when I got pushed down the stairs and got my neck broken.
no subject
Wait... Someone literally pushed you down the stairs?
no subject
[It was a group of "friends" no, more like acquaintances and in their mixed boy and girl group, one girl was clearly too drunk to make good decisions and the equally inebriated boys were too eager to take advantage of her.
Monts wasn't having it. The girl went home safe thanks to her. Monts didn't.]
People do stupid things when they're drunk and angry, like push a girl down the stairs. And no, I'm not friends with those people anymore.
no subject
[Now he was starting to understand why she hanging out at bars wasn't exactly her thing. While it was a good thing that power protected Monts, he could see how it was also quite isolating. At the very least, he's happy that she survived.]
Still sounds like one hell of a origin story, though. This should be the part where you tell me that you donned a superhero outfit and decided to fight bad guys.
no subject
[With her hands behind her back, she turns to look at Kojiro to give him a devious smile.
But it's unsettling.]
The moment I revived with a repaired body, the first thing I did was to terrorize those guys first. Ah, short of murdering them of course.
[Make no mistake, she fully intended to return the favor.]
no subject
[That smile sent shivers up his spine. He's glad that she didn't cross that line, yet it made him wonder how much she had control over that power. Or how much that power had control over her...
"She won't go berserk one day, will she?" No, she seemed mostly together... So he just had to trust a moment like that wouldn't happen.]
Y-You didn't break their balls too badly, did you?
no subject
[She clasps her hands together as if the thought had just occurred to her.]
I should have done that first. But not to worry. Someone stopped me in my tracks before I became of a full-fledged murderer.
no subject
[Kojirou knew that he wasn't the police which gave him more flexibility than them. But still, he couldn't help and get a bit preachy about this. It wasn't the fact that she beat them up, but what would've happened if she went too far.]
Even people who hold power with good intentions can easily stray off the wrong path. All it can take is one slip up and they won't know who they are anymore.
