Was that really warrant-- GAH!! [She's always gonna be caught off guard by hair ruffling and she swats his hand away.]

Well, we're gonna have to break in either way so... Brute forcing it is then!
lansaigh: (2.)

[personal profile] lansaigh 2014-12-04 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
Chances are, if we can sense it, they're not doing a good job of keeping us out.

[ And this time, his lips curl up to show sharp canines— clearly, someone is ready for a fight. ]

Brute force it is.

[... Well, he IS a warrior, she reminds herself. The past few days had been casual, cautious interaction, trying to interpret the duties of Master and Servant and (sort of) magus and spirit familiar. Lien needs to remember his true purpose and her role as well. So she crosses her arms and nods.]

Mm. That's right. All the other reasons aside, I guess we're technically seeking out a true fight in this War.

You better win, you hear me Lancer?
lansaigh: (8.)

[personal profile] lansaigh 2014-12-04 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, do I look like I need a warning? But alright, I haven't shown you what I can do yet, so I'll give you that much.

[ Another quirk, still showing teeth. ]

You better not have gotten me motivated for nothing.
psychometer: (Did you try working the shaft?)

[personal profile] psychometer 2014-12-04 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Then let's hope they try to give us hell then, hm? Let's go.

[She says this lightly as opposed to jovially. Perhaps she is taking the possible conflict seriously.

Several more minutes of walking and they finally reach the office building in progress. There's literally not a soul in sight, but the aura surrounding the perimeter is palpable.
]

No mistake about it. There's gotta be someone or something in here.
lansaigh: (1.)

[personal profile] lansaigh 2014-12-05 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
[ And with that, there's a flash of pale light wherein the clothes that Lien bought for him are replaced with the usual blue suit and armor. Gae Borg taps against Lancer's shoulder, red cutting through the inky black of the surrounding aura. ]

Yeah, and they don't seem like the type who'd welcome us with open arms. My favorite.
psychometer: (But you didn't have to cut me up)

[personal profile] psychometer 2014-12-05 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't open up my arms for party crashers either.

[She squints her eyes at the front gate, trying to parse its structure and the barrier around it.]

Now, if there's a weak spot...

lansaigh: (3.)

[personal profile] lansaigh 2014-12-05 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
[ A tilt of the head, as if he has no idea why she's bothering, and then...

...he swings his lance, slashing right through the gate's hinges before kicking it down.
]

Found it.

[#JustCuThings

The poor gate clatters heavily to the ground, and Lancer steps over it...rest in pieces.
]

They barely made an effort with this. Bet they didn't think a Master-Servant combo would come investigate, huh.
psychometer: (Curious and curioser... is that a word?)

[personal profile] psychometer 2014-12-05 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe. Probably didn't think any of us would give a damn.

[As they enter the first floor of the building there's an echoing laugh; a woman's to be specific. It makes Lien stop, blinking.]

Guess security's still up and running though.
lansaigh: (2.)

[personal profile] lansaigh 2014-12-05 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
[ A low whistle, and Lancer looks up towards the ceiling. Though his usual demeanor, that casual offhandedness, hasn't gone away, there's a sharp glint that suggests that he is, in fact, most in his element when he's about to fight. ]

Sounds like it. What a drag— I'm fine with fighting women, but I'm not too keen on killing them.
psychometer: (Hypothetically what would you do...)

[personal profile] psychometer 2014-12-05 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
[She's about to remark on that last part, but there's more laughter and then several flashes of white ghostly figures that are levitating above them.]

Okay, but what if they're not corporeal women, Lancer? What then??

[Sarcasm what]
lansaigh: (13.)

[personal profile] lansaigh 2014-12-05 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Then there's the problem of me not being able to ask her out on a date.

[ Down, boy. He's kidding, of course, and he gets in fighting motion, crouched slightly towards the ground with his lance hoisted, ready to strike if he's given permission. ]

But if she's already dead, yeah, I wouldn't feel too badly.
psychometer: (Mr. Blue Sky please tell us why)

[personal profile] psychometer 2014-12-05 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
You sir, are quite the cad aren't you?

[She rolls her eyes, but grins, but kneels on the floor with one knee and one hand on the floor.]

Cover me. I'm going to see where the kids are being kept.
lansaigh: (8.)

[personal profile] lansaigh 2014-12-05 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Easy.

[ And as soon as he says so, one of the apparitions swoop down to send a blast of energy their way— more flashy than powerful, really, given that Lancer's able to deflect it with one swing, breathing a short laugh as he bounds and severs the ghost in half. ]

Enjoy the fireworks, kiddo!
psychometer: ([ESP] Find the truth under all the lies)

[personal profile] psychometer 2014-12-05 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
[More apparitions appear, trying to aim for Lien. Whoever was behind these, could have been testing the waters of the abilities of these intruders and unfortunately for them, they had to meet Lancer. Can't say they aren't diligent in trying to attack them though.

Meanwhile, Lien can feel her circuits all fired up as she puts her energy into immersing herself into the reflections of the area. Memories upon memories, but she controls her prana into showing her the last 48 hours, easier than years by miles and miles.

An adult magus, an old looking woman in robes that could only be described as being witch-like, children going inside, their eyes glazed over, thinking that they had entered a wonderful new world going higher and higher, to a dream that was never to be, but only...

Gotcha.

Her eyes snap open and she stands up pulling her glove back on.

[ It's not difficult to tell that the other party is outmatched, but Lancer isn't surprised by that in the least— Heroic Spirits are summoned for these wars for a reason, after all.

He cuts through two of the enemies with ease, Gae Bolg a red blur in a sea of bursts of light, but he pauses momentarily to register the sound of his Master's voice and reply with:
]

Hold on, then!

[ And, well. He picks her up and tosses her over his shoulder again, grinning as he kicks off and launches up and

through the ceiling.

[WHAT NOT EVEN BRIDAL STYLE-- Okay, it's not like she specified, but this is just silly! There's no room to complain seeing as how there are more of the feminine apparitions that fly up along with Lancer and Lien. But instead of trying to get to them individually, their white ghostly forms begin to merge, losing the humanoid shape and turning into a gigantic, glowing white dragon beast, blocking the path to one of the top floors.

The sight of that obstacle doesn't sit well with Lien so she shouts to Lancer.

[ HE HAD TO FREE UP ONE HAND, OK... But well, the sudden appearance of albino Maleficent is, admittedly, a nuisance, so he stops his progression of ruining this building and sets Lien down a bit to the side, gearing up for some formal fighting. ]

It's not the same if I'm fighting a beast, not a man.

[ His tone is a light drawl, almost bored, if it weren't for the glint in his eyes that suggests his quiet ferocity: a wild dog, ready to rip throats with his teeth. ]

Stay back, little lady.

[ And that's all he offers before he's a blue blur, going straight for the dragon's head. Not a guy that likes to mince words, when it comes down to it. ]

[On principle, Lien didn't like magic. It engulfed a person and threw them into situations that constantly tested their strength both in mind and body and the organization built around it was constrictive and heartless, at least in her eyes. And if you had magic in your veins, you were going to run into a hurdle sooner or later.

Lien hasn't had such a hurdle in years. But now here she is, in the middle of the biggest metaphorical AND literal hurdle she's ever seen in her life. She stays back, just like Lancer says and even she can't predict how this will play out.

The white dragon is pinned down by the Servant, letting out a shriek that shatters the glass windows around it and making Lien cover her ears. It thrashes around, trying to get Lancer off of its head.
]

[personal profile] lansaigh 2014-12-06 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
[ Lancer balances on its head as if it's a pillar, occasionally making the light "whoa" or "steady, steady"— if there are some Servants who are more stoic towards their fights, Lancer is treating this particular one like a hunt. ]

Man, you're making it hard for yourself. [ He says, almost jovially, as he gets ready to drive his spear downwards in a straight line, through its skull. ] Jeez, you'd think people would appreciate a guy trying to make a quick, painless kill.
psychometer: (Did you try working the shaft?)

[personal profile] psychometer 2014-12-06 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
[Eventually it stops thrashing around. It's not match against Lancer's weapon and it begins to wilt, like a flower, with it's body finally dissipating in thin air; luminous white wisps surround them and Lien stands up, looking up towards the top floors.]

...

[She's silent for a few seconds probably because she has a feeling that can't be the only thing that the opposing pair has to throw at them. But with Lancer here... Well, can't say that she doesn't have the perfect Servant for brute forcing as they go dungeon crawling.]

Lancer... Thanks.
lansaigh: (13.)

[personal profile] lansaigh 2014-12-06 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
[ If she wanted muscle, here he is: hopping off of the quickly-dissolving enemy to land back on concrete, tilting his head left and right as if to get a crick out of his neck.

Her gratitude is met with a shrug, and then another ruffle of hair.
]

Can't slack off when my Master's watching.

[She doesn't swat his hand away from her head this time although she might just give a slight pout.]

Well, you're finally making me relent. I don't have room to complain at all.

Let's get moving though, before they try to cook up another dragon.
