![]() Private AU/PSL RP, set in the Fate/stay night universe. Multiple Servants of each class are being summoned or are rogue and appear from mysterious rifts along with shadow-like monsters, threatening to tear apart this unstable and distorted alternate reality. ➤ FSN AU Ai Thao Kha. ➢ Fate/ALT.distortion Playlist. |

Basically, it happened around the same time you first found the rifts, Ai. I got off the bus, it started raining, and I thought the area had an off feeling about it too.

[ He says, from his vantage point against the wall. His own cup of tea is untouched, but he seems to relent halfway between his words and moves to sit down. ]

[Ai Thao, takes a sip of her tea, letting her mind settle.]
An irregular summoning and contracting is one thing, but those rifts are what worry me. It makes me wonder if the Holy Grail for this War is heavily flawed in its magic.

[ Shoveling a good portion of that cake in his mouth, chewing thoughtfully. ]
Either way, this isn't a real Grail War, that's for sure.

And this is why people like us aren't typically part of the ritual. For instance, do we even know where the Grail is supposed to appear once a victor comes out on top?
[A beat.]
There's the Church to answer to as well... [She makes a face.]

[ He pauses to warm his hands, and then appends: ]
The overseer of this War would have known before anyone, I would assume.

[She pokes her slice of cake with a fork before deciding to take a bite.
... It's good.]
Another thing we found discovered are Servants that have slipped through the rifts. There's no summoning and without a Master to anchor them, they depend on the leylines and the energy that emits from the entrances. It's just one problem after another.
[That gives Lien pause and she glances at Lancer over her cup.]
no subject
Sounds familiar, yeah. That'd make us the lucky ones who found Masters to keep ourselves intact.

And that basically means a Servant would be able to latch onto a magus, whatever caliber they were as long as they have a supply of prana. But if it's not enough and they really did want the Grail, well. Then we get a Hans.
[YES SHE'S STILL GOING WITH THAT.]
no subject
That seems to be the short of it. It seems the game is unfolding against our favor.

As for me I feel like... It's something we've seen before. Long ago.
[Ai's getting that weird feeling again. Maybe it was the past. But what was the past? She and her sister didn't know except for the moment they woke up. Wasn't that it...?]
no subject
No. I haven't seen a rift since, but we aren't near any major leylines. The temple would be a good place to look though.
And I can't say there's anything familiar about them. I can't remember anything at all.

Hey. While you two have your women's talk, how about me and Handsome go have a friendly spar?
[ Cu... ]
no subject
Can you guys spar without die harding a building like the one we were just in?
no subject
[ Sensible, honest Diarmuid cuts in, blithely amused. ]
...I think that would be unlikely.
[ god kids ]

It's been a long night... Although I'm sure a battle between you two might be inevitable, we'll have to save that for another time, at least when we have more clarity as to what's going on.
[And while the Masters here might not put a hand on one another, well, that's why Servants are are there.
Lien, you haven't been using your prana sparingly like you usually do. You should rest
[Lien is mildly puzzled, but realizes... Yeah, she was doing a lot of magecraft. And of course Ai would be able to sense it. So Ai Thao stands up.]
We'll head back now. Maybe we can see each other tomorrow night. [Oh! One more thing]
Since you're both of the same class, it'd be confusing to keep calling you both Lancer wouldn't it?
no subject
The name's Cu Chulainn. He knows.
[ He jerks a thumb over towards Diarmuid, who responds in kind with his own name: a quiet, reserved "Diarmuid Ua Duibhne, First Warrior of the Knights of Fianna".
Man, they've been teaching kids to be polite since he died.
Sitting up in his chair, Cu watches Diarmuid get ready to leave, but he calls out to Ai: ]
Be careful about that shining face, little lady.
no subject
Diarmuid, huh? Well, at least we can't get confused now. Anyways, if anything comes up, call me. Or I'll call you.
[And when they leave, Lien just looks up at Lancer while finishing her cake.]
Still gonna call you, Lancer. I'm really used to it.

[ A light slump in his chair, and he eases himself into his seat. ]
