The young woman lets out a yawn and realizes that the lecture is over and that papers were to be turned in. It's a curious thing to the professor about how this overseas student manages to finish her work ahead of time, but what can you do? Lien was thorough enough.
It's only late noon when class is done and Lien walks past other classmates, her tote bag hung over one shoulder and her free hand, adjusting her second piercing on her left ear. She was going out to meet with a certain person, but before she can do so and quickly, a somewhat acquainted female classmate goes up to her excitedly gushing:]
Lien-san! There's someone out in the front gate and I believe he's asking for you? He's got a wild look about him, but it's kinda cool...
... Oh. You don't say??
[Lien's smiling in an entirely calm way.]
Do you know him?
[They both walk outside and Lien takes a deep breath as she looks out to the front gate.]
Well, after this, we'll have to see.
no subject
...her school.
It's one thing for him to get onto campus but another thing entirely to actually go into the buildings, so he'd stationed himself around the entrance, a pack of cigarettes in one pocket, a can of coffee in the other. One is bound to get bored with only those two items to keep him company, however, so he's taken it upon himself to talk to the few girls that passed by and asked him if he was lost, if he needed help finding anything—
—which, of course, culminated into this. ]
"You're from Europe? Your Japanese is so good!"
"Do you play any sports?"
"Who did you say you were looking for, again?"
[ A small gaggle of girls has amassed around him, and he's responding to it with the same carefree attitude he takes for most everything, which is probably the appeal. ]
Yeah, well, I'm a quick learner— whoa, whoa, not the hair, miss.
no subject
See what I mean?? They don't make men like that anymore. Hey, if you know him what does that-... Er, Lien-san?
[Lien is completely and utterly silent. She is thinking. She is wondering. Wondering why she doesn't just walk up to him and leave right away without making a big deal. Because it isn't. It isn't a big deal! Then why the pausing?? Why is she even thinking so hard about thinking so hard about this oh god she's turning into Ai Thao.
There's only one way to solve this. She reaches into her bag and takes out an apple cream bun, casually taking off the plastic wrap and taking a large bite. With her cheeks stuffed, Lien quite abruptly walks on over to the entrance ignoring the small crowd of girls and speaks over them, calling Lancer: ]
'Ey. We can leef now. 'Urry up.
no subject
He rolls his neck, as if that was all a warmup exercise, and pats Lien once, twice, on the head. ]
Long day, kiddo?
no subject
In response to Lancer, she just stuffs the rest of the bread into her mouth and whatever she's trying to say, it just comes out muffled and she gestures in a way that at least is saying, "We're going now, come on, come one."
Some of the people whisper to each other:]
"Is she annoyed?"
"I can't tell..."
"She's annoyed..."
[Lien just walks out the gate, chewing and then swallowing her food while waiting for Cu to follow after her.]
no subject
Pulling a face, he follows Lien with his hands on his hips, canting his head slightly to the side to try to gauge his Master's mood. ]
What, did you mess up on your test or something?
no subject
No. Class wasn't all that bad today.
[A beat and then she looks up at Lancer.]
I think I'm just hungry.
[THAT'S TOTALLY IT...]
no subject
Huh?
You were just eating.
[ thanks, cu. ]

[
although really, the truth was, she knew she was going to say something way out of place and that was a self-conscious way of stopping herself from doing so]no subject
[ Is the sensible conclusion he comes to, raising a brow at Lien before tapping his foot on the ground in wait for the bus. ]

[... In all honesty, she's feeling somewhat guilty for being dishonest. But she couldn't help it. She doesn't know what she's feeling. Or she does and rather not confront it. There's other fish to fry in this War after all.]
... Wonder how I'm gonna explain myself when I have class next week??
no subject
[ "A few centuries", give and take a thousand years. ]

[ He points to a passing car, snickering under his palm as he lights a cigarette. ]
—you could say I'm your driver.
no subject
I have more money than you think, but not enough for that.
no subject
...Not that I have stuff to complain about.
[ He laughs, drawing in a breath of smoke and releasing it; it feels nostalgic, somehow. ]
no subject
... Barring magic, but you know what I mean. I'm speaking broadly.
[She sighs.]
Not even having Eyes like mine helps much.
no subject
[ He reaches inside his jeans pocket, and pulls out a few scraps of paper that have what seem to be digits on them. ]
...I got a few "phone numbers".

no subject
[She uses email if people have to absolutely talk to her, but phones? Rarely if never.]
no subject
[ The slips are shoved back into his pocket, because for all his tendencies to be aggressive when it counts, simple acts of near-kindness (which he supposes this is, he's not quite sure of the implications) don't go unnoticed. ]
"If the women are happy, you're in a good town".
no subject
If I'm not going to die because of this War, then the cause of my death might be them.
no subject
[ He drops his cigarette on the ground, crushes it with his heel. ]
Or you could go into hiding, because I'd rather not kill women and children.
no subject
[She's about to make a remark about redirecting them towards Diarmuid, but considering what she experienced, it's too mean.
The bus approaches and Lien walks in, paying fare for the both of them and heading towards the very end.]
Think we'll be in for a brawl tonight?
[She asks him in a hushed voice; of course she's referring to the possible Master whose presence was only made known yesterday.]
no subject
Huh? Yeah, it's likely. Whoever's been keeping an eye on you hasn't stopped all day.
[ Which is stupid, considering that Cu was also right there, but he figures that whoever is stalking them is cocky, or stupid, or both. ]
