[Amelia was never quite sure how her local bartender of Red Divine and sort-of friend, Libby Mendez, could rope her into doing the most outrageous things; first there was that bachelorette party with the stripping firemen (Amelia had to interrupt the performance when she discovered that one of them was an incubus eager to feed on the prospective bride), next was a mysterious masquerade ball in New York (which turned out to be a soiree for a large group of vampires-- that one almost ended nastily), and now this. Las Vegas, Nevada.

What was worse THIS time was that Amelia (dressed appropriately for Vegas nightlife much to her disdain) lost sight of her friend in the crowded streets of the city. A timely text from Libby, however, assured her that she was in one of the casinos trying out her luck. Amelia was left to explore by herself.

Of course nothing else could go awry on this night right? Then again, the Emerald Witch felt that a 'normal' night in Vegas wasn't exactly what she would be expecting...]

A healing side-effect? That's useful...

There are some things we can't fully heal, and some things we can only fix temporarily- we certainly won't be curing cancer any time soon- but it's the closest thing to healing magic wizards have.

In addition to some great fun apparently.

You probably do get a rough customer every now and then I imagine? How do you deal with those kinds?

Did your friend, or whoever you talked to, mention anything about healers?

Not really. I never got into that specific topic.

Once upon a time- and by that I mean a couple thousand years ago- there were a lot of healers around. Some people are just born with the gift. It's not a talent, like mine- it's who you are. You're born a wizard, or a shifter, or a healer, and so on.

Anyway, there were enough healers around apparently that wizards just... forgot healing magic. The runes drifted into obscurity and were eventually lost altogether.

Healers also began to drop off the map- suddenly they were super valuable. Not they're few and far between, and take care to keep themselves hidden.

Me and mine are the next best thing, even if we don't have the sheer power of a healer.

That's a shame. They didn't take any preemptive measures to record the art of healing and now it's lost.

Where I'm from there is something close to healing, but I would probably call it more like reversing the damage. If you get sick, however, you're sick and you'll need something magically brewed to counteract that or any magic-related disease.

... Magic-related diseases?

You heard me. There are times when a witch or wizard's magic doesn't work correctly or stops working completely some days and that's when you need to get treated.

Well, that must suck.

Tell me about it. You try to think up of something for your magic to do, but you literally just draw up a blank.

Is that how it works, then? You think about it and it just... happens?

Anyone can think things up, but you need the image in your head to be as crystal clear as possible with the uttermost concentration you can muster.

Ah, so it's not as easy as I'd like to believe.
