OPEN-ISH? ⇒ VIVA LAS VEGAS

[Amelia was never quite sure how her local bartender of Red Divine and sort-of friend, Libby Mendez, could rope her into doing the most outrageous things; first there was that bachelorette party with the stripping firemen (Amelia had to interrupt the performance when she discovered that one of them was an incubus eager to feed on the prospective bride), next was a mysterious masquerade ball in New York (which turned out to be a soiree for a large group of vampires-- that one almost ended nastily), and now this. Las Vegas, Nevada.

What was worse THIS time was that Amelia (dressed appropriately for Vegas nightlife much to her disdain) lost sight of her friend in the crowded streets of the city. A timely text from Libby, however, assured her that she was in one of the casinos trying out her luck. Amelia was left to explore by herself.

Of course nothing else could go awry on this night right? Then again, the Emerald Witch felt that a 'normal' night in Vegas wasn't exactly what she would be expecting...]

[ As Amelia is walking around, she might notice a door that wasn't there a second ago. In fact, that door is attached to a building that wasn't there a second ago.

The sign declares the building to be a club of sorts, called the Griffonix. A small statue of griffon guards the door- otherwise, it's nothing remarkable to look at. Rather plain, actually, for a place one might find in Vegas. ]

[Oh, that definitely catches her attention. It's much too ordinary for Vegas and Amelia DID notice how it just... came into her view so suddenly. The sign garners a frown from her and she reaches into her purse to put on her glasses adjusting them to make her sight better as she examines the building (Libby insisted that she shouldn't wear them in Sin City of all places, but her fuzzy eyesight said otherwise).

Amelia looks back and forth to see if there's anyone else who took notice of the building. She glances back at the griffon statue, hands akimbo.

Then she takes one hand and points a finger at it-- a small spark of her magic circles the griffon statue cautiously, invisible to the normal eye and then it spreads across the door like a thin glimmering emerald thread.

Better to play it safe.]

[griffonix]

[ Her magic is shoves aside gently by golden light- almost like a scolding mother berating an overeager child. The light flickers over the building once, and then vanishes ]

[She sighs] A protective ward...? It must be quite something in there then. I'm suddenly getting an odd sense of deja-vu... In any case, what are you hiding?

[Amelia gives a cold, calculating stare at the griffon statue as if it's the cause of all this]

It'd be rude if I had to force my way in wouldn't it? But I'm suspicious of all of this as it is already.

[There's another method she just thought of--

Knocking three times on the door? Might as well try it the normal way!]

[griffonix]

[ The door actually isn't locked, should she care to try it.

And it is a club of sorts. Everything is cast in blacks, grays and whites, with hints of gold and chrome. Surprisingly classy.

Relatively small though the sitting area and bar are, there are plush couches and chairs everywhere, most occupied by couples- in fact, there's not a single person to be found in the place. Everyone is paired up, and if there's an extra... well, let's say there are a few groups of three floating around.

The music drowns out any conversation, but there's not much conversation to be had. The air is thick with... something, and most of the patrons seem to be rather occupied with each other.

There's a reason the sitting area is so small. Up the stairs and into the back, there are private rooms. A lot of them, and a lot of them are occupied. Doors shut and locked.

The owner of this fine establishment can be found behind the bar. She catches sight of Amelia and arches an eyebrow. ]

[Well now!

Amelia enters the club, looking around the club somewhat surprised by the interior... and at the guests. It felt intimate although not in that sentimental way; more like sensual. The feeling she was receiving from such an intense atmosphere was not unlike the overwhelming aura of a vampire using hypnosis on its prey or the very warm presence of succubus or incubus.

She had been to places where the latter had occupied or was in control of and the witch felt like she had a pretty good idea of what was going on behind closed doors. Needless to say, Amelia felt quite uncomfortable and VERY out of place.

She kept her glasses on just in case she needed to see something invisible to her own eyes.

Ah. A bar. Amelia seemed to be more occupied examining the whole place before actually thinking of ordering a drink though.]

[griffonix]

[ There's magic being worked, though Madigan's girls keep it focused on their partner (or partners). Surprisingly, as people drift out of the rooms in the back and head to the bar or out the door to leave, they look... oddly refreshed.

Mads herself slips out from behind the bar and approaches Amelia ]

A little overwhelming when you first walk in, isn't it?

[Oh my. Amelia blinks and looks up when she realizes she's being addressed. There's silence from her for a moment, but then she nods.]

Quite. One wouldn't expect such from the outside, but as they say, don't judge a book by it's cover.

I should know.

[griffonix]

[ She gives Amelia a once-over and grins dem legs ]

Read a lot of books, do you?

[recluserose]

That and I teach about them as well.

[griffonix]

A teacher? [ she laughs ] Oh honey, I don't envy you.

Care for a drink? First round's on the house.

[recluserose]

[SIGH] Most people don't and it's perfectly understandable. I just happen to be well-suited for it.

Hm. A drink doesn't sound so bad right now. I've been walking around Vegas for an hour and I haven't had a drop of alcohol yet. It feels like a sacrilege.

[griffonix]

That is a sacrilege! Come on! [ she snatches Amelia's wrist and tugs her back towards the bar ]

[recluserose]

[Almost stumbles as she's tugged at the bar, but quickly gains composure. Geez, you are excitable lady 8|;;; This sort of energy is something she associates with Libby or some other people she's familiar with, but it's something she barely knows how to react to.]

[griffonix]

[ once at the bar, she deposits Amelia on a stool and regains her place bartending. She leans forward, flashing some gratuitous cleavage and resting her chin in her hands. ] So, what'll it be?

[recluserose]

Well... How about a Black Russian?

[griffonix]

Coming right up.

[ she fixes up Amelia's drink, and slides it in front of her ] I take it you're just visiting?

[recluserose]

I was dragged here by a friend. We're both from California. [She takes a small sip of her drink and gives a low hum of approval.] Thanks.

[griffonix]

Everyone needs a vacation.

I notice you're here by yourself, though.

[recluserose]

I lost her in the crowds and the last time I checked she told me she would be in a casino.

[Checks her cell, still no new texts :/] I just hope she doesn't get carried away or worse, get into a situation I have to pull her out of.

[griffonix]

No reason you can't enjoy yourself in the meantime.

[recluserose]

Well, it depends. [Her memory isn't terrible so she DOES remember who mentioned this club to her...] Interesting enchantment you have on the outside.

[griffonix]

[ Madigan's eyebrows go up, and her poster changes from flirty to subtly cautious ]

Testing my wards, hm?

[recluserose]

Ah, I apologize. When I noticed that this place just suddenly appeared out of the corner of my eye, I was dubious to say the least. I simply wanted to see if there was magic involved or not and I got my answer fairly quickly.

[griffonix]

[ she relaxes, but only slightly ]

I suppose that's fair.

[ a beat ] I'm Madigan. I run this place. And you are-?
