[Amelia was never quite sure how her local bartender of Red Divine and sort-of friend, Libby Mendez, could rope her into doing the most outrageous things; first there was that bachelorette party with the stripping firemen (Amelia had to interrupt the performance when she discovered that one of them was an incubus eager to feed on the prospective bride), next was a mysterious masquerade ball in New York (which turned out to be a soiree for a large group of vampires-- that one almost ended nastily), and now this. Las Vegas, Nevada.

What was worse THIS time was that Amelia (dressed appropriately for Vegas nightlife much to her disdain) lost sight of her friend in the crowded streets of the city. A timely text from Libby, however, assured her that she was in one of the casinos trying out her luck. Amelia was left to explore by herself.

Of course nothing else could go awry on this night right? Then again, the Emerald Witch felt that a 'normal' night in Vegas wasn't exactly what she would be expecting...]

[ she fixes up Amelia's drink, and slides it in front of her ] I take it you're just visiting?

I was dragged here by a friend. We're both from California. [She takes a small sip of her drink and gives a low hum of approval.] Thanks.

[griffonix]

Everyone needs a vacation.

I notice you're here by yourself, though.

[recluserose]

I lost her in the crowds and the last time I checked she told me she would be in a casino.

[Checks her cell, still no new texts :/] I just hope she doesn't get carried away or worse, get into a situation I have to pull her out of.

[griffonix]

No reason you can't enjoy yourself in the meantime.

[recluserose]

Well, it depends. [Her memory isn't terrible so she DOES remember who mentioned this club to her...] Interesting enchantment you have on the outside.

[griffonix]

[ Madigan's eyebrows go up, and her poster changes from flirty to subtly cautious ]

Testing my wards, hm?

Ah, I apologize. When I noticed that this place just suddenly appeared out of the corner of my eye, I was dubious to say the least. I simply wanted to see if there was magic involved or not and I got my answer fairly quickly.

[griffonix]

[ she relaxes, but only slightly ]

I suppose that's fair.

[ a beat ] I'm Madigan. I run this place. And you are-?

[recluserose]

[She glances at Madigan] I won't be doing that again. I honestly had no idea I'd come across a place like this.

As for who I am, I'm Amelia. A pleasure to make your acquaintance Madigan.

[griffonix]

So, Amelia. Curiosity brought you into my little establishment, but is it enough to make you stay?

[recluserose]

I'm not that curious, but keep serving drinks like this and my friend might have to polish her bartender skills to make sure I go back home. [Said in a slightly joking tone, but it's kind of hard to tell, she keeps such a straight face 8|]

[griffonix]

No? That's a shame. I'd like to show you what we do here.

I am curious about a few other things though. May I ask about those instead?

[griffonix]

I can't promise to answer everything- a girl has to have her secrets- but very well.

[recluserose]

Was there a previous owner here or is this all yours from the beginning until now?

[Amelia developed a habit about asking about people and bits of their history. It's something she got used to doing with Briar when he was still alive; he was always curious, always wanting to know about others]

[griffonix]

It's always been mine. Its purpose has... shifted, I suppose, but it's always been mine.

What was the purpose before then?

[griffonix]

A halfway house of sorts for girls of this... particular talent set. It still is, in a way. But if they want to use their talents, they stay. If they'd rather not, they're free to leave, but only after they know how to use their abilities.

I'd say those are rather benign terms. I'm surprised.

[griffonix]

How so?

I just didn't expect any of that. Then again, I've never been in a place like this before. Regardless, it's rather unique.
