More Crossover Continuity ⇒ Double Date, Double Trouble

[After a wild weekend in the town of Blackgale, specifically at Amelia's house, the witch spent most of her time smoothing things over with the questioning locals, grading all of her student's neglected essays, and trying to apologize to the talking cat commune for not warning them about the huge human gathering. It's tough being the only witch in town sometimes. She needed to relax. What does she plan?

Why, another trip to Las Vegas, Nevada of course! Well, it wasn't so much to enjoy the tempting offers of Sin City, but to visit the person Amelia was now comfortable calling a friend, the owner of the... interesting club, Griffonx. Madigan of course!

A quick magic teleportation and search for the hidden club later, Amelia opens up the door to the establishment, dressed casually.

It should be a normal day with nothing unexpected happening whatsoever...]

[ Oho. That's her favorite part. She takes his arm and begins leading them towards the gardens ]

I know you boys don't know much about Vegas, but is there anything you want to do? We could go for dinner later, maybe catch a show... there's lots of things to do, so even if you have a general idea, I'm sure we could think of something.

[Loki follows behind, as usual.]

I was under the impression that this was a mortal city where money was made. [Or lost.]

Money is gained, money is lost, money ends up in places you wouldn't expect. That's Vegas for you; they do call it Sin City for a reason. It's not just for gambling though.

[Thor just shrugs.]

I have no need of money. I will be guided by your preferences.

Ah, so it looks like us ladies are paying for this date, aren't we Amelia?

[A brow raise.]

An issue that could be easily remedied, if that proves to be a problem.

[She has no issues with paying thank you endless teacher fund, but at the word 'date' she shoots Madigan a look, but decides not to press the matter]

How does Cirque du Soleil sound for later?

[The term "date" goes right over his head, as does "Cirque du Soleil".]

I do not know what that is.

[ She just flashes Amelia a mischievous grin. Come on, it's totally a date ]

Cirque du Soleil? It's a circus, of sorts, with dancers and acrobats and the like. Very stylized, very unique. It's quite impressive.

[So they might get to see mortals run around and flip about while dressed in funny costumes? How droll, he can't help but think to himself. As for the word "date", Loki doesn't seem to mind it too terribly.]

We will have to see exactly how impressive it might be.

The name literally means 'Circus of the Sun.' It's been running in Vegas for a while.

We could do that or go to the Venetian later for Phantom of the Opera. I always enjoy that.

LATER THAT NIGHT (QUITE LATE ACTUALLY)

[So after all the fun (and friction, but that was a given) with, the two Norse gods and Madigan, Amelia is almost tuckered out. Almost. She just took a few turns to find a good resting place, but before she knew it, the crowd of Vegas that increased by the hour made her lose sight of the other three.

In short, she's lost.

She's out on the streets by herself, trying to find her way to a familiar landmark of some sort. Maybe even a, I don't know, empty area for her to quietly and magically whisk herself back to her friend's sides. Las Vegas, however, just wasn't that kind of city that had any empty spaces. Everywhere there seems to be people, and MORE people around her, and not an ounce of breathing room to try to do things in secret. It was an almost torturous sensation, and worse when one was alone.

Amelia sort of hated that. She manages to find her way to the Bellagio near the fountains, pacing back and forth, pondering her next move. Maybe she could just go for a cab and leave the city? But how would she explain herself to Madigan? She wouldn't admit it easily, but she wanted to continue hanging out and-- oh man, there was school on Monday, she needed to remind her students to keep up with their readings of the Canterbury Tales.

All the while, the witch couldn't help, but get reminded of the many times she traveled with her teacher; they were faint memories since she was a child then, but they went to many places and she often found herself alone and restless, much like she was now.

The Bellagio fountains are playing a song for one of their shows, and she could hear the giggles and whispers of the sirens as they danced along with the streams of water, hidden from normal eyes and only a faint murmur to normal ears.

She was hoping they weren't laughing at her.]

[Loki, being as observant as he is, notices when Amelia has left the group and failed to return in a timely manner. If this brings up any semblance of concern, it is not something he'd openly admit, and rather begins his search for her (away from the others, sneaking off himself) in the name of pure curiosity.

His own magic allows him to move swiftly through the crowd, unseen to the mortal eye. Tracking her down is no difficult task, when allowed to transport between locations in such a stealthy manner.

He finally catches sight of her near the fountains and smirks a little to himself. She obviously looks quite lost, which would explain her lacking presence earlier. He allows his invisibility spell to disperse, to no one's notice, and strides over to her.

Her back his turned to him when he speaks. (He ignores the giggles and whispers of familiar creatures nearby.)]

Like a little lost child in the crowd. Need some assistance, Amelia?

[recluserose]

AH!

[A little jolt of surprise indicates that she did not detect his presence whatsoever. Amelia whips around quickly and there's a mixture of relief, irritation, and shock in her expression]

Do-... Do you always have to do that?!

[allfatherissues]

[Have an innocent smile. (But we know it's hardly innocent at all, don't we?) He more or less knew that she would react in such a way, if her body language was any indication.]

Do what?

[recluserose]

You could just appear in front of a person instead of from behind!

[mjolnir_time]

[It all sounds interesting, but one word catches his attention.]

A ghost?

[allfatherissues]

I did not know where you were, Amelia. Your back was turned - what, did you expect for me to circle around you, like a hawk eying its prey?

[He puts his hands behind his back and gives her a scrutinizing look.]

Of course, if you don't wish for me to aid you in the future, I'll take note.

Funny, you seem to do that regardless, seeing as how you appeared in a timely manner while I was talking to Madigan at her club.

[NOT answering the second part, because... Well, whenever he does appear during an exhausting situation, he had been a big help 8||]

[allfatherissues]

[He wrangles the flow of conversation to move in the direction of that second statement, anyway. He's good at that.] So then I shall not appear before you again! Is that what you wish? I'm hurt.

But, in any case, I suppose that means I'll simply be on my way....?

[He turns to leave trolololol.]

[She's not sure what makes her do this she doesn't want to get lost again, she doesn't want to be alone again, but her hand instinctively reaches out to wrap around his. And it stays there.

Like a lost child indeed.]

[He stops when he feels her fingers curl around his hand, and he looks back in faint surprise. Loki had expected for her to tell him to stop, but not quite like this.

He turns to face her again.]

I will take that as a gesture of you wishing for me to stay.
