More Crossover Continuity ⇒ Double Date, Double Trouble

[After a wild weekend in the town of Blackgale, specifically at Amelia's house, the witch spent most of her time smoothing things over with the questioning locals, grading all of her student's neglected essays, and trying to apologize to the talking cat commune for not warning them about the huge human gathering. It's tough being the only witch in town sometimes. She needed to relax. What does she plan?

Why, another trip to Las Vegas, Nevada of course! Well, it wasn't so much to enjoy the tempting offers of Sin City, but to visit the person Amelia was now comfortable calling a friend, the owner of the... interesting club, Griffonx. Madigan of course!

A quick magic teleportation and search for the hidden club later, Amelia opens up the door to the establishment, dressed casually.

It should be a normal day with nothing unexpected happening whatsoever...]

[He wrangles the flow of conversation to move in the direction of that second statement, anyway. He's good at that.] So then I shall not appear before you again! Is that what you wish? I'm hurt.

But, in any case, I suppose that means I'll simply be on my way....?

[He turns to leave trolololol.]

[She's not sure what makes her do this she doesn't want to get lost again, she doesn't want to be alone again, but her hand instinctively reaches out to wrap around his. And it stays there.

Like a lost child indeed.]

[He stops when he feels her fingers curl around his hand, and he looks back in faint surprise. Loki had expected for her to tell him to stop, but not quite like this.

He turns to face her again.]

I will take that as a gesture of you wishing for me to stay.

Would you actually let me get lost again?

[He probably would, she thinks, but that's why she had to stop him before he could go]

[He would have returned, that much is true, but only to point out to the others that Amelia was busying herself with being lost. Of course, they would not approve, and go to find her.

That was as good as not really leaving at all, wasn't it?]

Perhaps I would.

[He smiles]

But tonight I'm feeling a bit more princely, and thus a bit more responsible.

[As if she realized just now that she was holding her hand, she let's go and starts pacing]

All right, that's good too I suppose. I'm sorry, I- [She takes her glasses only to put them back on as she paces]

My mentor did this all the time. He'd bring me to places, leave me on my own- Why am I even saying this!?

[allfatherissues]

[He watches her pace with a quirked brow.]

Forgive me for saying so, but he was hardly much of a mentor for doing such a thing. It sounds like something I might do, after all.

I never said he was a good mentor. [She respects him, but it's hard to tell if she had any sort of affection for him... well she does, but it's complicated. ]

And somehow that explains a lot; you both make me needlessly frustrated.

[allfatherissues]

[Careful with your words when you're around a man like Loki, Amelia.]

Explains a lot of what? Your fondness for our company? [ :D ]

That's not what I said!

[allfatherissues]

[It's as if she can FEEL her glasses steaming up]

In any case, you should at least to pretend to be grateful that I've saved you from your innate lack of direction.

... I don't have to pretend since... I am... grateful. [Somewhat 8|]

And yet you have a very strange way of showing it.

[H reaches out, offering her his hand.]

Nonetheless, I'm still willing to escort you back.

[Even with your brother around? Would mention it if there weren't more people gathering around the fountain-- the next song is about to start.]

... Let's stay for a bit. I want to see what song they play next.

[And then she thinks of something.]

It's a bit too crowded here though. [And looking up at the roof of the Bellagio... HM. 8|a]

[Loki follows her gaze, then gives her a knowing glance.]

Say no more.

[He does not ask for her hand this time, he merely reaches out to grab hold of it–

And they're gone. Roof, here they come.]

[Oh, this is much better. The view from the top of the roof is nothing short of amazing at least for Amelia. The Vegas lights shine like jewels, the people look like ants, and the pool of water below looks luminescent.]

... Now, I could get used to this view.

[allfatherissues]

[He stands at the edge of the roof, looking out over the view and obviously not bothered by the height. He once again claps his hands behind his back, taking in the cool night air.]

There are countless lights in this city. If nothing else, it affords for a unique view that even Asgard cannot provide.

Vegas just looks better at night in general though. [She looks expectantly down at the fountain and stays quiet for a minute or two...



The sight is almost dream like and Amelia stays quiet throughout the whole performance. She has a contemplative look as she listens to the song.]

[Loki watches the display with interest. It is true there are grander sights on Asgard, but there is no denying that there is a strange sense of elegance associated with this one, nonetheless.

He remains silent throughout the display, as well, and allows the lyrics to echo in the otherwise quiet air.]

I couldn't leave him out

[Amelia is strangely quiet even after the song fades away. She straightens up, putting her hands behind her, back turned to Loki and it seems she really is lost in thought.]

It's been a long time since I've heard that song.

[allfatherissues]

I'm not familiar with it, but that comes as no surprise to you.

[He was paying attention to the lyrics, though, despite his rather detached statement.]

Does it bring back memories?
