More Crossover Continuity ⇒ Double Date, Double Trouble

[After a wild weekend in the town of Blackgale, specifically at Amelia's house, the witch spent most of her time smoothing things over with the questioning locals, grading all of her student's neglected essays, and trying to apologize to the talking cat commune for not warning them about the huge human gathering. It's tough being the only witch in town sometimes. She needed to relax. What does she plan?

Why, another trip to Las Vegas, Nevada of course! Well, it wasn't so much to enjoy the tempting offers of Sin City, but to visit the person Amelia was now comfortable calling a friend, the owner of the... interesting club, Griffonx. Madigan of course!

A quick magic teleportation and search for the hidden club later, Amelia opens up the door to the establishment, dressed casually.

It should be a normal day with nothing unexpected happening whatsoever...]

[Loki follows her gaze, then gives her a knowing glance.]

Say no more.

[He does not ask for her hand this time, he merely reaches out to grab hold of it–

And they're gone. Roof, here they come.]

[recluserose]

[Oh, this is much better. The view from the top of the roof is nothing short of amazing at least for Amelia. The Vegas lights shine like jewels, the people look like ants, and the pool of water below looks luminescent.]

... Now, I could get used to this view.

[allfatherissues]

[He stands at the edge of the roof, looking out over the view and obviously not bothered by the height. He once again claps his hands behind his back, taking in the cool night air.]

There are countless lights in this city. If nothing else, it affords for a unique view that even Asgard cannot provide.

Vegas just looks better at night in general though. [She looks expectantly down at the fountain and stays quiet for a minute or two...



The sight is almost dream like and Amelia stays quiet throughout the whole performance. She has a contemplative look as she listens to the song.]

[Loki watches the display with interest. It is true there are grander sights on Asgard, but there is no denying that there is a strange sense of elegance associated with this one, nonetheless.

He remains silent throughout the display, as well, and allows the lyrics to echo in the otherwise quiet air.]

I couldn't leave him out

[Amelia is strangely quiet even after the song fades away. She straightens up, putting her hands behind her, back turned to Loki and it seems she really is lost in thought.]

It's been a long time since I've heard that song.

[allfatherissues]

I'm not familiar with it, but that comes as no surprise to you.

[He was paying attention to the lyrics, though, despite his rather detached statement.]

Does it bring back memories?

A few good ones here and there.

I remember it from some movie... What else... It's been almost thirty years I believe since I first heard it on the radio. I kept myself sheltered for many years before I decided to mingle on the outside, but I did keep a few things here and there to alert me of what was going on around me.

I was quite an apathetic person back then, but even this song touched me in a way.

And what brought you out of your shell? Certainly not this song alone.

Well, my mentor told me to start mingling...

[A pause.]

And then Briar. [Her expression is neutral.]

[allfatherissues]

[A beat.]

More or less. [Another gaze is cast out towards the city lights.]

... It would be nice wouldn't it? If someone were to say those words I mean.

[allfatherissues]

[The lyrics are still fresh and easily recalled for someone who was paying attention.]

'How wonderful life is while you're in the world?'

[That causes her to smile unintentionally]

Yes, those.

[allfatherissues]

[Loki smiles at that, as well, glancing at her.

But there is something sour about that smile, recognizable even as he turns to look at down at all the Vegas lights once more.]

Indeed, it would be nice.

... So would you have liked to spend the day with me? If we didn't have Thor and Madigan along I mean.

[allfatherissues]

[He looks at her again, this time raising a brow.] Certainly. I do not know your friend that well, but I can say with confidence that I usually do not prefer the company of my brother at any given time.

If it were just you and I, I would have no qualms towards that.

[recluserose]

Then next time, just ask. [As opposed to. You know, hovering in the shadows while she is having girl talk with one of her few female friends]

[allfatherissues]

I will try to make a habit of it, then. [No promises for 100 percent of the time, though.]

Better than making a habit out of that than appearing at completely awkward times. [Like that talk about bedroom antics cry]

[allfatherissues]

Like the time I appeared in your bed as a serpent? Now, you cannot say that was not amusing.
