[She passes by some people and keeps her head bowed down. Gotta remember, it looks as if she's talking to herself and not man who just happens to be invisible right now...]
I think I was assuming the Archer class specialized in vision... Did you do any archery in your past life?

[ For example, Archer would probably have been able to see the way into Shinto; his was limited to the old town and the surrounding mountains. ]
But as Heroic Spirits, we're privy to some enhancements.

[They're almost out of the neighborhood and that's when they should both notice that there is a police car outside one of the homes. Ai Thao stops to observe from afar. There's a couple; the wife is crying, the man is angrily talking to the police, trying to explain...]
... Lancer, could you go and listen in on what just happened? If it doesn't have anything to do with our business we'll move on.

Once the police stop their questioning and get into their vehicle, Diarmuid rounds back to make his report. ]
—A case of rampant child kidnappings in this area. Often, the children would complain of fatigue before their disappearances, which...
[ His voice falls somewhat. ] ...would lead me to believe that it's the work of a magus.

As they walk out of the neighborhood, Lancer may notice that Ai Thao's hands are trembling. One of them is at least and the other is clutched around it to keep it from shaking too much.]

This frequently? is what comes across his mind, and it's unpleasant, to say the least, to consider that another participant of the war has no qualms with causing such widespread commotion. ]
...Master. Your thoughts?

At Diarmuid's question, she replies quietly:]
This will probably make the news reports... Need to watch the news somewhere...
[She's muttering to herself, but has enough sense not to leave Diarmuid out of the loop of how she feels and what she wants to do.]
I'm angry. I'm really, really, angry.

Then we share the same sentiment. For us, this is an enemy we have to defeat.
[ Not just because they're most likely a competitor, but because it goes against what he believes. ]

[Another quiet nod. Ai Thao's hand begins to tremble less and in a few minutes they reach Riverside Park where it's still empty in the morning.]
... Lancer. This is something I try not to dwell on too much because the only way to keep living is to be aware of the present. [She looks towards the surface of the river, leaning her arms on the ledge of the fence.]
I don't have a lot of memories of my childhood.

Because of your Eyes?
[ So he ventures a quiet query, to facilitate her statement, if she so chooses to elaborate. ]

I still have trouble reconciling with the past at times. For my sister, it's worse. We both lost so much time to someone who put his goal above all else.
[She stands up straight.]
So let's not let those children wait a day longer.

I'm in agreement. The best course of action for us right now is to gather more information.

I will allow it for today. Please make the search as thorough as you can. [She checks her watch.]
Let's meet back at this park in the evening, say, around 7:00 PM?

[ And, well— she won't be able to see that he'd nodded or smiled, but he does both before excusing himself with a light rush of air, the only indication that there was anyone there in the first place.
It's not difficult for him to gather intel on what's been happening: in fact, it's the talk of the town, a low buzz of dread that manifests in some parents exercising special caution on their children, forbidding them from wandering outside later than necessary.
The rumors aside, there's a mounting sense of something being amiss, the closer he gets to a certain section of the city. A Bounded Field? There's something distinctly negative about the air the closer he gets to the source of the irregularity, and he confirms his suspicions when he senses that there's far too much prana being concentrated in one place to be natural, or safe.
With that in mind, he makes his way back to the park as the sun sets, waiting for his Master to come back so he can tell her as much. ]

She's waiting at the park and sitting on a bench with a book on her lap. She's not really reading the pages; rather she's thinking of what she can do when confronted with the inevitable enemy.
Lancer's back; she can sense him.]
Were you able to find anything?
no subject
Once he's done, he steps back and cants his head, as if to wait for an evaluation. ]
Will you be fine with heading out now?
no subject
There's enough people who would notice the disturbance we'll most likely cause in that area. I know I said I didn't want to make them wait, but it's the price we pay for having these battles late at night.

[ Though he could suggest that he go in by himself and see if he could fight the Servant himself. His Master doesn't seem too big on combat, and it might be easier for him to go do this on his own.
He has a feeling she won't like that, though, so he stays mum on the matter. ]

Brutality isn't within her nature, however. It's probably a good thing, knowing her Mystic Eyes, but Ai Thao knows that this is a war. She told herself that much since yesterday and even told Lancer that she understands the weight of what they are both part of. She needs to own up to it for both her sake and his.]
