[Ai is just thankful that Diarmuid didn't hear the things Cu said about him. That would have been mortifying, god. Regardless, Ai smiles up at him.]

I've been trying to fight all my battles on my own to no avail it seems. Of course I'll depend on you.

[She puts her hands behind her back and tilts her head to the side almost playfully.]

I hope that isn't too much?

[ And in return, Diarmuid blinks, laughs, and returns the gesture with a playful one of his own: a hand over his heart in mock formality. ]

I, Diarmuid ua Duibhne, is here to serve you faithfully in all endeavors, no matter how trivial.

[ His smile warms. ]

Know that there's nothing that makes my heart gladder than to have you lean on me.

[She softly says this, turning around so she can lean her arms on the rails and look out into the ocean. Fuyuki is, but a small line in the distance now.]

There are things I want to tell you, but... Heh. [She chuckles softly, turning her gaze to him, with honest blue eyes.]

[Cu's words aren't lost on her though. These moments were so precious that she hid herself from the brilliance, unable to embrace it fully. But that was all the more reason to take hold of it.]

[ That compliment is given to him so freely, without any pretense at all, and Diarmuid accepts it wholeheartedly because it would be insulting for him to be humble about it. When he bows his head this time, it's out of both reverence and affection, and he takes a step forward to bridge the distance between them and take a piece of her hair, the section tied into the long braid.

He scoops it up in his palm, carefully brings it to his lips. ]

Then I'll wait. And I'll stay by your side until you can find your words.

[ And he says that without asking for her permission, without defaulting to Master-Servant obligations. Just a fact: 'I'll stay'. ]

[This... This is so bad. This is so bad for Ai because she cannot stop the flood of red that rushes into her face as she watches him take her braid and brings it up to his lips and she also can't stop from crying out immediately:]

[ He sees that red, and even he's not dense enough to misinterpret this. But there's almost a facetious little headtilt in return, followed by a: ]

[ And he plants another kiss to the corner of her hair. ]

[THAT'S IT! She suddenly moves forward and reaches up to take his face in her hands...

And affectionately headbutts him in the forehead because she literally has no idea what else to do and the other thing is too soon! And she hides her face against his chest because why not.]

[ Ah... what a cute retaliation, though. The headbutt takes him off-guard for approximately two seconds, which is enough time for her to nestle against his chest, and...

[Ai accepts the embrace, laughing a little all the while and her heart lightened in the end. All of this was new and overwhelming, but at least they figured something out and it was a good. Diarmuid was good.
