[How long had it been since that fateful day in Whitehaven? That city still thrived even after the disaster it brought upon itself and the sudden reappearance of the Beast of Heaven. She remembers that day all too clearly because of the waves of past memories and pain reappeared and she was finally released. That was the day that man...]
"Goodbye. If you never see me again, you'll be happy right?"
"Goodbye and I'm sorry."
[Idiot. She wasn't happy at all.
Because he was a warlock, it meant that his kind were hard to track down, even for a celestial beast like her. Anil had helped her regain some of her former powers, but at some point, their paths diverged because she still found the time to explore whatever world she was able to cross into. Anil called it, "stalling." He was probably right. Brisa, the blackbird and legendary, Beast of Heaven had yet to figure out what she would do after she tracked down her treasured friend.
Night in Fuyuki City. The bridge is brightly lit, but the figure sitting on top of the metal rails blends in due to her small size. Anyone who was able to get a close look at her would see a young masked girl in foreign clothing, surrounded by ravens. And it's nearly impossible to hear her talking to them.]
... There's so much magic in this city! I'd imagine a lot of trouble happens here.
[Brisa nods sagely, hugging her knees. The ravens glance at her, cawing and communicating with her in their own way. She shakes her head in response.]
No. I don't know what I'm doing. I'm alone again for now. If I can't think of anything else, I'll fly with all of you.
no subject
Them? They're not mine. I think they just like me because I'm unlike any bird they've known.
no subject
By the way, I just gotta know for sure. You have a human form and all, but do you have like a certain kind of diet? Like only vegetables, lean meats, things like that or can you eat human meals? Because chances are, we may need to pick something up during the trip back home.
... or stop by Onii-san's home just at the right time when he's cooking dinner. That actually tastes a lot better too.
no subject
Hm. [She looks thoughtful as she considers his question.]
Honestly, I can digest most anything that humans eat, but I have to say, I do avoid most meats and eggs... Seeds and berries are standard and if I remain as a blackbird, I'll eat insects.
[NO SHAME WHATSOEVER.]
But if I have to choose a human food I must absolutely have...
Bread. And the good kind too. Baked goods. Sweet, savory, if it's bread, I'll eat it.

Some people might take you for a weirdo or a hobo. Or a weird hobo. Not generally got stigmas to have on you, you know? But since that is what we're working with, I suppose there should be SOME vendor shop open! [ He says as he passes by one of the various vending machines out in the open that may or may not have the said bread already packaged up. ]
But avoiding meats and eggs? Any particular reason? Or your stomach just can't handle it?
no subject
[That sounds... DELICIOUS... Her eyes light up with immediate interest as Gil mentions the unknown treat to her. In fact, she's way more interested in the vending machine with packaged bread in it that she doesn't even take the time to be offended by being called a weird hobo.
She will however, answer his last question as she peruses the food items.]
Well... Like I said, it's not that I can't eat them. I guess it doesn't feel right.
[Meat especially brings up bad memories and bad feelings in general.]
If I have to, I will. But I think it's avoidable and it's not a vital part of my diet.
no subject
Hoh? Did that catch your interest after all? Mm... I suppose it's best to try one now and see if we can go to a bakery tomorrow when its light out. Now let's see...
[ And well, at least that's good to know facts. At least maybe Shirou would make something vegetarian in case another accidental member of his growing collection decides to roost there instead of at the church. Aaaand now he's going to slip in some coins into the slot and push some buttons for the melon bread to start dispensing. ]
Me, personally, I think I have very rich tastes myself. But eating snacks like these is okay once in a while, but I am REALLY really spoiled when it comes to food, personally. It just has to be cooked and made with perfection, you know? But then again, that's just probably because of being born with richer tastes to begin with.
[ Aaaand boop. The melon bread has now fallen into the chute for him to reach in and grab in order to hand it to Brisa. Kind of showing how technology works and all. :U ] Anyway, here you go. Give this a try and see what you think.
no subject
[Brisa please...
She accepts the bread after watching how Gil retrieves it with interest. Human technology is rather quaint! But, anyways, bread.
There's a little nibble to taste. Her eyes light up and she takes a huge bite.]
Sweet! It doesn't taste like melon at all, but it's sweet!

Although... [ He taps his chin in thought now that he has taken notice of her obvious pleasure in such simple things. THIS KIND OF REMINDS HIM OF A LITTLE SOMETHING A GOOD TEN OR SO YEARS AGO. ]
Well, you're no Kirei, but you are an interesting person all the same. If something simple like this is enough to spark a bit of pleasure to you, then there is a whole world of things you'll need to experience! I suppose as long as you're staying around here, I can be your guide to that until you decide to leave.
no subject
[Brisa replies, but it's with a face stuffed full of melon bread.
Pause.
Okay, she nods, so Gil you can assume that she's agreeing with what you said! She needs a place to stay and someone who knows the city well, especially since it was such an abnormal place to begin with.]
no subject
[ Well, unfortunately Brisa's foodquest will have to wait just for a while longer, but since she is content to just the melon bread already, he figured stopping by to get ramen or something may be stretching it too much.
Or a trip to the convenience stores. Those are always exciting in some way! So he resumes with the whole arm around the bird shoulder's kind of deal to help pull and guide her along to their destination. ]
Great! Glad we have that settled! Remind me tomorrow morning that I need to show you some of the highest places in this town. I remember a fellow and I chatting on top of a bridge some time ago, and the view from it looked pretty good. Maybe that could be a place for you to get your bird's eye view of the city once you've gotten some proper rest!
But what to actually DO in the city? Hm... I suppose going to the water park should be okay to start with.
no subject
[Sorry, mouth still stuffed with bread here. Brisa dusts her sugared and sticky hands off on her dress while glancing at Gil with a questioning look in her eyes.]
no subject
I suppose in this case, it's easier to show than tell. I wonder if you'll like wearing a one piece or a two piece swimsuit? Or a preferable color?
no subject
[She may or may not have seen something along those lines during her travels. Brisa looks down at herself and shrugs.]
Well, one thing at a time. I gotta settle down first, remember?
its still burd time, isn't it? ;w;
Besides, it's not like finding you a place is going to be too much of an issue! It's just a matter of how long you plan on staying here is another thing.
[ He motions his head over to get her attention as he points to the opposite side of town-- literally right across the many bridges to the residential part of Fuyuki and on the higher hilly spots. May as well be pointing at trees and bushes from a distance. ]
Anyway. I wonder if your bird's eye view still works while in human form? Do you see that church over there? That's where we're going, and that's where you'll be spending the night at.
no subject
Mmmm. Yeah, I think I see it. It's smaller than I thought.
no subject
By the way, Brisa. If a particularly strange lady with white hair, amber eyes, and dressed like a nun approaches you for any reason while we're in there-- just fly away. Fast. I'll catch up with you later.
[ And this is where Gil starts to activate another Noble Phantasm straight out of his treasury: Timeskip. Shall we do the timewarp? ]
no subject
Because in the end, Brisa... is on the roof of the church. It looks like whether she's a bird or a human, she doesn't stay away from high places. She's wearing her mask again, making for a strange sight.]
no subject
You know, the more you stand out here is the more likely chance that you'll catch a cold. Even magical beings get sick, after all.
no subject
I don't think I've ever gotten sick before. Not as a human anyways.
no subject
[ Although that head swaying back and forth did leave him an impression that she's either an airhead or someone who is really relaxed and easy going. Either way, not a person who seems to have too much high expectations to have! ]
no subject
Do people actually go to this church for worship? It doesn't strike me as a particularly busy place if you don't mind me saying.
no subject
And actually, not often. But it's still a place of worship and you never know who drops in for what reason. Even the former head priest of this church wouldn't turn down a visitor... it's just the fact that sometimes they don't want to come back after coming by the first time. Kinda strange, really.
no subject
[Brisa's under the impression that it isn't possible since she's a grown bird at the very least...]
This place is pretty nice though. I like the view from the roof and I like all the plants that are inside the inner courtyard.
no subject
[ He does, however, shifts into his physical form-- one that involves him just casually laying down on his Vimana that also appeared as he did that is hovering/parked right next to the roof of the church. Totally something normal, you know. ]
If plant life is your thing, there is a forest out in the backways on the other side of town. Supposedly there is a little spoiled princess who keeps a massive mad dog as her only friend there, but I think as long as you're not doing something strange then you can have fun in the forest too. And by strange, I mean not being suspicious at all.
no subject
You've mentioned a lot of other people, but since you're here right now... Well, can you tell me more about yourself? Since you're a king and all? What's a king doing in this place anyways?
no subject
Now then, about myself... I am, as I said, a king! Formally speaking, I am known as the King of Heroes. In this land, that would be the eiyuu-ou... or A.U.O. if you wanna fit in with the crowd. As for what I am doing here, first I was actually summoned because of mages for a silly little farce of a war. Since then, I've decided to watch over the people and this world of this era for my personal reasons.
Now my turn! Why do you feel like you should hide your face all the time? I like to think that I am pretty familiar with myths and legends of all kinds of civilizations, but I'm still baffled at the design work of that. Or what you are exactly, for that matter. You're quite the little mystery yourself.
no subject
[She repeats the title, trying to see how it sounds when she says it. It's... Grand, but also kind of unbelievable (this coming from a bird that transforms into a human). Gilgamesh explains it simply enough; Brisa isn't surprised that it would be humans who would be involved in his being here, but now Gil's become part of the world he was brought into. Interesting.
At his inquiry, she turns to look up at the sky, taking a deep breath. Where to start...?]
Like I said, this mask is a gift. There's nothing special or magic about it. It's just a toy from a friend... My first gift in a long while...
[So she basically wears it for fun, like a child who wants to play dress up. But it's kind of clear that she isn't quite a child, whimsical as she is.]
And as for what I am... I'm a bird. A really old one.
[Brisa takes off her mask so she can feel more of the night breeze on her cheeks and through her hair.]
There's a lot of blank holes in my memory, but I've been recovering some vital parts... I lived long before humans started to congregate, that's for certain.
