TFLN shitposting edition
i finally watched harry potter... a tad unrealistic if you ask me... i mean a ginger kid with 2 friends?
[Yeah. It's one of those days.]

He picks up his phone to read the text and raises an amused brow. Okay. Random.]
You don't like gingers?
no subject
How are you? I got busy and felt bad for not texting you soon after!
no subject
I'm good. Found more work. Currently stuck at my computer, feeling like my eyes are going to fall out of my head. Would much rather have watched Harry Potter for sure.
no subject
I know! You should visit the cafe for a break or once you're done :DD
no subject
I wouldn't mind stopping by. You're not too busy are you?
no subject
So c'mon over!!!
no subject
[But as only a few minutes pass before the door swings open to the cafe and Michael walks in, he obviously didn't have too much trouble. He has a messenger bag slung over his shoulder and he adjusts it as he closes the door behind him.
Looking around, there's plenty of people in here. It's a stark contrast to when it was just him and Iona, and Oren lingering in the background. That awkward moment passes, the kind where people stare at the newcomer walking in for a brief second before going about their business again.
He gazes around to see if he can spot Iona. Just...standing there.]
no subject
Iona spots Michael and waves him over.]
You made it!
no subject
Hey. [He leans against the counter, looking around.] You weren't kidding about it being busy.
no subject
[How does one install wifi service in a magic cafe with a door that's everywhere and nowhere at once? A MYSTERY.]
no subject
Not for me. I don't have to worry about classes any more, remember? [He's thankful for that, but a part of him vaguely misses those days.]
So... [A beat.] Is everyone here, you know... different? They don't really look it.
[I.e. not normal?]
no subject
no subject
[That's a joke.]
no subject
How are you? Feeling better after what happened in the woods?
no subject
A lot better. No more nosebleeds.
[He pauses, seeming to consider something.]
By the way, Iona, I've been meaning to ask you something, if you don't mind answering.
no subject
Sure! Ask away. I'm a little free right now at least.
no subject
Who taught you how to use your magic?
no subject
[She gestures with one thumb towards the kitchen where he is.]
My grandmother or my brother could have done so, but he was actually a good choice in the end.
[For various reasons that she won't go into obviously.]
no subject
Why? Was he a friend of the family, or-
[He stops himself, thinking that this isn't the way to go about what he's getting at.]
I should start over. I thought about what you told me the last time I was here, about not having courage. I'm starting to think that I should be a little braver, if only because what's the point of me sitting around, waiting for something bad to happen. [The wendigo was a wake-up call.] Basically if I can't be completely normal, I should try to get a better grasp on what I do have.
[An exhale.]
Basically, I wanted to know if you-- or, I mean, if you know anyone who might be willing to help me get a handle on my powers. I know it's not exactly magic, but maybe someone knows something that could help.
no subject
Family friend is probably the closest answer I can give for now.
[And she listens to him give his explanation thoughtfully.]
Well, first off. Do you do any physical exercise? Meditation? Yoga?
no subject
I go to the gym to let off some steam pretty frequently. [It helps keep him distracted; the consequence being that he has a nicely-toned body underneath those pretty standard clothes.] So yes to physical exercise, but no to meditation?
no subject
I guess what I'm getting at here is that you really, really need to sharpen your focus and your senses so that when you use what you have, it doesn't take a huge toll on your brain.
no subject
[That sounds....terrifyingly exciting, almost.]
no subject
[She crosses her arms, trying to think hard about this for his sake.]
In my experience, the more you hold back, the more you're in danger your powers backfiring on you because of one's inexperience of handling them.
