You are in the town of Blackgale, specifically within the town's pride and joy, The Blackgale Rose Garden. Tonight the garden is basking in the soft glow from the full moon and stars, making the hundreds of white roses look especially luminescent.

This garden, however, is far from an ordinary garden.

That's sort of hard to miss when little bright pearls of starlight start falling from the sky like snow and disappearing once they hit the grass and flowers. Fancy a romantic date? A casual nighttime stroll? It's all up to you. Doesn't matter who you are or where you're from.

Oh yeah, and someone has magically set up a music player somewhere playing this song.

Just a bit. She was burning through my wards, so I thought it best to make myself scarce.

I would say that I'd be angry if my special someone was being threatened-- [Not gonna mentioned what happened a year ago :|]

But I don't know the reason, so I won't go that route yet.

Oh, no. I have entirely selfish reasons for wanting to kill him. He has something that I want- something that I'm owed- and I doubt he'll just give it to me.

[Refilling her cup silently, but she keeps it on the table instead of raising it to her lips.]

[ He quirks an eyebrow ] Does that bother you?

[recluserose]

Yes. Just a little. [Drops a few lumps of sugar into her tea, but not stirring.

And the music is fading away too. Now they just have a dark garden to have tea in.]

[spellbent]

So I see.

Ambitious aren't you? I suppose when you're pursuing something of worth, there isn't room for diplomacy. [Sounding a bit icy here :|a]

[spellbent]

The time for diplomacy has long since passed.

[ watching her carefully ] Did I hit a nerve?

I can't imagine what you're suggesting Mr. West.

[spellbent]

I'll take that as a yes.

I've made it no secret that I'm not a good person, and perhaps you would have found that out sooner if you had asked the right questions.

I had my suspicions, but I'm not an impulsive person. [Tea is her only friend now.]

[spellbent]

Well, that's your own fault, isn't it?

Perhaps. But quite frankly, although your current situation doesn't strike the right chords with me, I don't particularly feel like starting an argument over your affairs.

[spellbent]

Good choice. I would have hated to go from one fight straight into another.

[recluserose]

Although I am younger than you and I prefer to respect my elders, I am being kind when I say this-

Don't test me Mr. West.

[spellbent]

Perhaps neither of us should be testing the other, hm?

[recluserose]

Agreed. We're wandering into thin ice here unfortunately.

[spellbent]

Indeed.

[ Still, he can't help but add ] I'm going to guess you lost someone you care about to someone like me, once.

It happens. [This was supposed to be a bit flippant, but... She sounds sad regardless.]

I suppose it does. You can't very well have light without darkness, now can you?

[recluserose]

The one I lost taught me to be someone who can be a light even after he was gone. [The music begins to start again, dreamy, aged, and light hearted despite the mood.]

I'm still sad, but I there will come a point where I become tired of it.

[spellbent]

Good for you. [ That might not have been entirely sarcastic ]

[ He glances at his watch ] Hm. I wonder if my guest has burned my house down yet.

Careful now, my sentimentality might taint you. [That was entirely sarcastic.]
