CONTINUED FROM TFLN MEMEBELLS ⇒ T.G.I.F.
[Amelia should have learned how to use her cell phone properly at some point. She meant to send her message inviting people for a drink to a few select people in town-- Libby her bartender, Emily Maxwell, a previous student of hers, hell maybe even Micheal and Adam.
Somehow this hasn't happened.]

[Amelia had to shoo away the talking cats, clear the living room of the books and practically redecorate the interior of the house-- it was no longer the cozy vintage home she had been living in for decades, but rather a fancy contemporary and industrial looking household.
A household now filled with various party goers called up by a certain billionaire playboy who is a terrible person. The nice thing about being in a witch's house is that the food and drink are plentiful and that the magic that's literally around in the house seems to keep people in high spirits. Some people are also complimenting the now well-dressed Amelia how charming and post-modern the wind chimes decorating her ceiling were. Funny how they aren't making any sounds despite the crowd.
As for the witch, she's walking around and doing her best to be pleasant despite her dislike of huge crowds and keeping an eye on the hallway. People could get lost in there unfortunately.
This is going to be a long Friday.]

I'll accept your compliment, but there's no reason to start a silly spat over that.
You're both my friends even if it's in different ways.

The only reason I could know Thor is through you. And you both helped me when I had to deal with all those golems.
As for you...
[But in what ways are they her friends as;dlfkjds this feels like a loaded question]
no subject
As for me...?
no subject
... There are some things I've told you that I don't normally tell anyone else. But then again that alone wouldn't make you a friend and...
To be honest, I consider you a friend, but I don't know what you think of me.
no subject
[At the implied question, he pauses.]
There are not many that I take a decided interest in. You should feel flattered, even if you do not.

You are an odd one, Amelia. My interest in you runs further than a mere shared love of magic, for differing reasons.
no subject
... Then... I suppose... I'm flattered either way.
no subject
That is reassuring to hear.
[-so he just extends a hand to her, offering to escort her through the crowds. Is that a dying gesture here on Midgard? It still thrives where he's from.]
Shall we find you something to drink? As I said earlier, you do not seem to be enjoying yourself as much as you should.
no subject
I'll drink, but nothing alcoholic. I can't afford it when I have a house full of guests to maintain.
no subject
You make it sound like a chore.
[Loki manages to snag a drink of the non-alcoholic kind from someone walking by with a tray of them, and offers it to Amelia.
don't worry it's just the punch that's spiked.]no subject
[
WHATAccepting the drink and taking a small sip of it]Mm. Less sweet than I thought, but I suppose that's a good thing.
no subject
What?He looks about for a place where they can avoid such a massive crowd of people.]
Not much for large social gatherings then?
no subject
I didn't have a good impression of them when I was younger.
no subject
He follows her out, though, and can appreciate the breeze]
Why is that?
no subject
For us witches and wizards, there are large gatherings where the teachers introduce their apprentices to one another. It's how one gets connections, catch up on the times, and other such useful information.
I went to my first gathering when I was ten with my mentor. At that time, I had no idea there was such thing as being 'born' with magic seeing how I was 'made' instead.

The world of magic tolerates humans- because we are technically 'mortal' with several stark differences. But humans are still outside of the sphere.
I'm an unintentional intruder within that sphere.
no subject
You are powerful. If you were born on Asgard, you would have been respected, and your outlook on parties would be very different than they are now.
1/2
'If...' It's such a heavy word.
I don't think I would have had such an aversion towards parties had I not realized during that first gathering that I was all alone at ten years old in the world. A witch, but still seen as a human. A human who had paid the price for her power by leaving behind things that took her years to realize were precious in their own right.
And I had no one to blame for my loneliness except for myself.
no subject
But I suppose if all that hadn't happened I wouldn't be here talking with a Norse god. You and Thor would have stayed in the pages of stories I've read... So, in a way no matter what had happened maybe it's not all for nothing.
no subject
When he does speak, he just shifts his weight to where he faces her instead of the night-time view.]
You were young. Everyone is naive when they are children - even the gods.
[a teasing (yet strangely ironic) grin, faint in the dim lighting]
I am glad that I rank higher than 'nothing', at least. You do not know what that does for my self-worth.
no subject
That's good to hear. And I'll have to keep thanking you for even the littlest things then won't I?
