[ It's a bit of a challenge to the other man, but there's also a vague sense of familiarity that starts settling in: the blue suit, the blood-red spear, the insistence towards a one-on-one.
But that's impossible. For every war, there's only one of each class. ]

Ai Thao exhales, keeping the veneer of calmness.]
And what of your Master, Servant? Are they hiding away?
no subject
He has a good idea of who he's talking to now, but he ignores that for the moment, giving what he could effectively call his "junior" a light half-grin. ]
You two are ready for a fight, I like it. But to answer your question, my Master's...
[ ...what is Lien doing, anyway? He glances up, and shrugs. ]

[On the upper floor, Lien's successfully healed her shoulder. Eh, there's a mark, but that's what long sleeves are for. She glances every so often at the children to make sure they're asleep. As long as they rest, their prana should slowly recover over the next few days, she figures.
Then she hears a groan. Outside? Wait. No. In the room... In the SAME room...]

[The strike and the sound of a groaning man can be heard throughout the building and the shouting of a young woman also echoes throughout the area.]
GODDAMMIT HANS GRUBER, DO YOU REALLY WANT ME TO THROW YOU OUT THE WINDOW?!?! STAY DOWN YOU BASTARD!!!!!

The distraction has Diarmuid blink and look up towards that hole in the ceiling, slightly...dubious.
Hans Gruber??? ]
no subject
Cu just shrugs again. ]
There we go.
no subject
OH.
OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH.
OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Ai Thao's tough facade fades away the moment she hears the shout and her face turns red either out of embarrassment at the revelation or the fact that... Yeah. That's. That's her. And she's driven to speechlessness.]
...

[ The interruption aside, Diarmuid snaps out of it enough to notice that there's something...wrong... with how his Master is reacting to all of this, though that's not to say that he wants her to panic, or be angry, or whatever else the situation may call for.
Is she...embarrassed? Another blink, and he glances at Ai Thao, momentarily breaking focus. ]

[Lien stands up carefully, making her way over to the hole made by Lancer so she can look down and call for her Servant.]
What, no one to fight? Well, then let's just take the kids down and call it a... day...
[Wait. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. She's squinting.]
Em? [Basically? She's calling her "little sister."] Em what are you doing here?
no subject
[ He has a feeling that they're not going to be fighting— the denotation as sisters confirms that suspicion, so he lowers his lance. There's something he wants to clear up about this, anyway. ]
Looks like your sister's a Master too, by the way.
no subject
Chị!! G-Get down here you... you idiot!! You have so much explaining to do you...!!! Do you know how much I was...!! GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!!!
[She's really, really, upset. So much for thinking it was her sister who would have been angry!]
no subject
Our fight will have to be at a later date.
[ He says, to Cu, not that he thinks they'll get the opportunity anytime soon. ]
no subject
Lien sighs although it's not without amusement.]
Oh boy. She's in her gut kicking mode isn't she?
[And to Lancer. Er, Cu-Lancer that is]
I'm not dropping down by myself. Help, please!
no subject
Alright, alright. Use the elevator next time, Master.
[ Not that they're working now... but he bounds up and goes to retrieve Lien, setting her down in front of Ai without much ceremony. ]
no subject
Oh shit, he's hot. And... Well, there's something making her blink in confusion. Is it the near sightedness? Wait, no it's magic. BUT ASIDE FROM THAT.]
Well! Aren't we all a sight for sore eyes?
no subject
So he takes a step back, thankfully casting his face in the shadows, and bows his head. ]
If you need a moment, Master, I won't interrupt.
no subject
Why... Why are you here? And when did you contract the Servant? You of all people should know what it means! Lien, you're not ignorant of these matters even though you try to be--
[She falls silent when Lien suddenly holds up one finger. Looks like there is some authority with the elder despite the difference in personality.]

[She got her sister to settle down. Good. Lien then points to the floor where she came from.]
Kids.
[There's a light of realization that appears in her younger sister's eyes. A very visual, "Oh!" sort of moment. There's a sort of understanding that forms without words, one that is formed by not only blood, but through shared hardship.]
I was going to have my Servant bring them down to the ground floor. The elevators aren't working and we made a mess of the place. But, since you're here... [She makes a head gesture, acknowledging Diarmuid.]
Could you have him help out too?
no subject
no subject
Please go check the floor to see what she said was true. If so, start bringing them down to safety.
[The hard edge of her voice has softened and she even looks a little humbled.
No matter what her reasons were (and she had a damning feeling that it was also unwitting or spontaneous), Lien was still herself- she'd take responsibility when it mattered.]
no subject
Come on, Good-Looking.
[ He says, to which Diarmuid looks mildly dubious before following the man in blue up and through the ceiling, towards the kids. ]

At least they got this covered, right Ai? Imagine going up all those floors with broken stairs...
Ai?
[Her sister is silent. And... pouting? Lien grins.]
You were ready to get all serious weren't you? Ah, well. I guess you're not surprised, after seeing the news and all.
no subject
And here was her elder twin, the one who pushed magic away, and yet running into danger headfirst like a hypocritical idiot. But Ai knows she's always been that way; a "whatever will be, will be" sort of woman even in the face of her dislikes. And sometimes, that's what drove her to do the right thing.
Ai Thao finally answers, crossing her arms, but not without a small smile despite her stern tone.]
I still have a few questions I need to ask you Lien. Holy Grail aside, this War and all the mechanics have been highly irregular. So I hope you have answers because I barely have any.
