[She's a jumpy little thing and it shows as she faces Ireland's most revered hero, THE Cu Chulainn. Yeah. She read that story too. And while she didn't show it before, the surprise and awe did dawn upon her later after she met up with Lien that first night.

Now that he's the only other being in sight, Ai Thao feels... intimidated? Was it because of Diarmuid's enchantment that she felt slightly more relaxed around him compared to this person?

In any case she replies with a question, albeit hesitantly.]

How... How long have I been out?

[ Cu is sharper around the edges, a wild wolf in contrast with Diarmuid's more prevalent characteristics as a trained hunting dog. Regardless, the edge gives way for a mild half-grin as he puts his hands on his hips, leans in, and replies with a quaint: ]

Long enough for me to know what you look like when you're asleep.

[Face still humorously flushed, she protests]

That's...! I apologize for objecting, but I don't appreciate that remark when we're in an unknown situation!

[Wow, so polite even when she's upset...]

[ He has a feeling he knows why he ended up with the twin that he did, and he laughs. ]

You asked. [ this is meant to be taken as: "relax". ] But if you have that much bark, I have a feeling we're gonna be fine.

[Why is he like her sister, why?! Or at least why did he have the on the surface qualities that made Lien frustrating even when she wanted to connect with her?

You're technically under no obligation to stay by side though aren't you? I mean, it's obvious it's better to stick together, but...

[She trails off wondering if he catches on to what she's implying. He's not her Servant so she doesn't feel like she can order him around. Hell, did he take orders well? With someone like Lien who didn't ask much of others, it was hard to imagine her elder sister ordering a being of this caliber around.]

Hey, if you want to go trot off, be my guest.

[ He also had a feeling that Ai would ask this, which is why he's mildly glad that she got stuck with the honor-driven stickler; it's not hard to see the frustration mounting in those violet eyes. ]

But that little Master is gonna give me Hell if I let anything happen to you, and I'm not looking forward to that. So you're stuck.

... She would, wouldn't she? [This is murmured mostly to herself. And really, the thought makes her feel better. So Ai smiles and gives a small bow of her head at Cu.]

I hope you don't mind being stuck with me then. We should find Diarmuid and Lien, hopefully in no time.

We'll need to assess what we're dealing with here and...

[SO MUCH FOR BEING A COMPOSED MAGUS.]

[She's trying not to dwell on her massive mistake. Emphasis on trying because guilt affected her very easily and it would show. Instead she tries to keep a conversation going as she decides on a path.]

Can you sense your Master's presence?

[ Her guilt is the big elephant in the room, but Cu decides not to prod it unless necessary; better not to agitate the little miss in an already-foreign situation. ]

Yeah. She's moving, so she's probably trotting this way.

[ A beat, and then: ]

Want to make a bet?

Pardon?

[She blinks at the proposal of a wager.]

That my Master puts something over your Servant's head before we all meet up.

[ cu........ ]

Wait, why would... Oh.

[She furrows her eyebrows as if debating with herself. Would Lien...? It wouldn't be out of character, but she's not that inconsiderate... But then again she did voice her displeasure at having her mind be coaxed into falling in love with his face.]

... How come you seem to be able to predict a very accurate possibility, Cu...?

Knowing her, and knowing passing information about your Servant, it's not hard to predict.

[ A wave of the hand, and Cu scratches a mark in the nearest building, just in case this place has them go around in circles. ]

Or maybe she'll tell him to walk backwards the whole time, or something. You think he'd do it?

[A Servant's readiness with current and past information was amazing as usual. Of course they'd be able to identify each other, something that fascinates Ai Thao.

In reply to Cu, she lets out a nervous laugh.]

Making someone walk backwards is a little over the line, even for her.

Let's hope your Servant comes back in one piece.

[ He's kidding, of course— he doesn't think Lien will be terrible to the other Lancer— but he can't help poking a bit of fun. Levity's always been his strong suit. ]

When you start putting it that way, I don't know what she'll do.

[As they walk down the road, she glances at what are supposed to be storefronts filled with different products. But none of them have any signs, indicating of what they're supposed to be.]

But it sounds like you're able to understand her to some extent. I have to say I'm a little glad about that.

Don't give me too much credit. She still blindsides me half of the time. Remember "Hans Gruber"?

[ On his end, Cu is also poking at some of the mystery items that are lined up on the stands, pulling his hand back once he feels that they're not exactly savory to touch. ]

[She's holding back a laugh.]

I can't believe she still likes that movie. But I completely understand what you mean by blindsiding. Half the time, I don't know whether she means to do it or not.

Heh. To me, she's a kid that wants a reaction.

[ There's an edge of fondness there, though, as carelessly as he tosses those words around. ]

... Mm. [Right on the money. She doesn't comment anymore on her sister and instead decides to focus on their surroundings.]

This place... It's almost exactly like Fuyuki, but it's all unfinished and incomplete.

[ Well. He changes pace along with her, noting that it's probably for the best for sisters to sort that kind of thing out by themselves. ]

Probably because this is an incomplete dimension. Whoever made this place doesn't have the kind of power necessary to fill in all the little details.
