[Don't wish, don't wish, don't wish...
Her smile softens as if touched by what he said. It's brief since she moves past him to grab her jacket and head to the door.]
I'm depending you.
no subject
I'm not gonna give you a reason to be disappointed, so don't worry your little head.

[An unsaid detriment to herself. But he didn't have to hear it. She says it to herself because a small pain is better than piling on the hope and having it hit harder later.
It's gotten foggier in the city, something that doesn't bode well to Lien. While it's not completely Rider's magic mist, the fact that his energy has spread out over a wider area, thin as it was, isn't good news whatsoever.]
He better not have made a bigger boundary unless he's planning to go jogging all around the goddamn place.
no subject
[ This is Caster-levels of prana, if Rider can extend his influence over such a wide area. But Lancer isn't too worried, given that a wide range of thin prana isn't as strong as a concentrated amount of it in one place; he's confident that he can win out in strength, either way. ]
How're you feeling?

[She exhales into her hands as she walks down the street, in the part of the city that isn't heavily populated so they wouldn't run into too many civilians.
Lien starts off in the direction of the bridge, but stops and turns her head towards one of the tall buildings.]
... Guess he's moved the fun somewhere else though.
no subject
Let the guy pick out his own grave, we can give him that much.
[ how is cu this confident all the time??? who knows ]
no subject
[As they approach, Lien's looking back and forth among the structures, trying to determine which one holds their enemy.]
no subject
[ Lancer also concentrates for a bit on the buildings looming in front of them, before he goes for the one on their immediate right. No hesitation on his part. ]
no subject
I'm sorry she's not attracted even to young Alan Rickman.Anyways, she trusts his senses more than hers and follows after him.]
Look, it's just our luck that our fights take place in an urbanized city.
Although that reminds me, we haven't gotten around to watching the movie yet have we?? Better fix that soon.
no subject
How dare she...The building is predictably empty, and looks like it has been for a while— strange, given the condition that it's in, but there's a thin dustiness to it that suggests that it's been abandoned for a good week or so. ]
Yeah, I don't even know what this Hans guy looks like. Is he a warrior or something?
[ ALAN RICKMAN, WARRIOR EXTRAORDINAIRE
Closing his eyes for a second, Cu listens for the slight movements in prana before heading towards the elevators. ]
no subject
Cu Chulainn and then Rickman... look it's no contest for her...]He's kind of a jerk, that's what he is. Look, we'll watch the movie and you'll see what I mean.
[She stops, coughing slightly as they head to the elevators.]
Ugh. Dusty. [There's also the matter of how having to encounter Rider meant having to deal with whatever boundaries he's set and if he's in this building, who knows what he's got in store right now.]
Should I stay behind?
no subject
Well. You should, if you don't want to get caught in the crossfire.
[ A shrug to go along with that, before he turns his head to look over his shoulder at the smaller figure. ]
But I'm not gonna stop you if you want to tag along.
no subject
[Suddenly, she gives a quick and sharp headbutt to his back.]
I'll stop at a certain point and from there on out I'll handle myself.
no subject
[ There's a soft "ding", and the elevator doors slide open. Stepping in, Lancer pushes the button for the top floor with little hesitation, and then keeps his hand poised over the panel. ]
Which floor, miss?
[ Teasingly sarcastic. ]
no subject
Lien puts up a hand to indicate to Lancer to let her focus as she tries to focus on her hearing. The more they listen the more it sounds like the revving of an engine.]
... Alright. If that's what I think it is, then I'm just going to declare this week over. Because seriously, nothing is going to top what I think is on the roof.
no subject
In a good way, or bad way.
[ Just in case... ]
no subject
[Lien purses her lips and takes off both of her gloves and pocketing them. It looks like she's going full throttle herself.]
Anyways. You, roof, me I'm staying back. His head can't be far from here.
no subject
[ A sweep of his bangs, and he uses the same hand to usher Lien out of the elevator. ]
Go curl up somewhere, sing a song or two. I'll be back.
no subject
If you don't come back...
[A beat.]
I'm watching the movie without you! [And she runs off down the nearest hallway, her earrings gleaming somewhat despite the faint lights that come from outside.
There doesn't need to be anymore words between them, not after they've come this far.]
no subject
[ Is what he mumbles under his breath as the doors close, as he settles against the back wall of the elevator and waits for it to climb laboriously up to the roof. He feels like maybe he should have given her a trinket or something— his earring? has he done that before?— just so she has something of his to fool around with, but he decides that in the end, it's not necessary.
His eyes are closed for the duration of his ride up, one red eye opening when the bell rings and signals that he's arrived. ]
Well, time to work.
no subject
On the roof though, is where their demonic and headless enemy Servant awaits him. There's fog too, but they've found out that the miasma wouldn't affect other Servants so Cu's got that going for him at least. No, what's worrisome is what Lien exactly feared; he has a new mount, but it's a machine, a motorcycle to be exact.
Rider's body is different too, another correct assumption from Lien. It's not as muscular as his previous one, but it's still fit enough. But what none of them would have guessed was who the body would belong to. Sharp eyes would notice the right hand that has burnt out and used Command Spells.
The Headless Horseman laughs and revs up the engine of his new mount as he faces (no pun intended) Lancer. The prana that emits from his new body is intense, causing the mist to swirl around them wildly.]
Welcome back! For the first and last time!
no subject
Cu looks at the motorcycle, then at the new body, back at the motorcycle, back at the body. There's an immediate disgust upon the realization that the enemy Servant's pilfered his Master's body— not that he has any idea what the two's relationship was like, but it's the principle of the thing. Killing his own Master, that's the work of scum.
(Unless you're killing Kotomine Kirei, who started shit with you first. That doesn't count as liege-killing, okay, not exactly.)
Without batting an eye, Lancer positions his spear so that it's facing Rider, red glint in his eye matching the dim light of his weapon. ]
Make it quick. I need to go back and watch "Die Hard".
no subject
The Headless Horseman cackles (what a great feat, doing that without a head).]
No need to mince words, eh? I like it, I like it!
[The engine is on full blast, and he summons his weapon, the axe like from before. And without pause he drives right at Lancer, faster than normal leaving a trail of flames behind.
MEANWHILE. Lien's looking up at the roof, biting her lip. This better be over quick, she thinks.]
no subject
everything is being read in a nic cage voice rnSomething tells Cu that he's not going to be able to cut through that motorcycle like he usually would— that'd be way too easy, he's fairly certain that Rider's coated that thing with more defensive prana than he cares to contemplate. So, instead of facing his enemy directly, like he's inclined to, Cu sidesteps and angles his attack from the side, ignoring the wheels for now to just concentrate on pinning the body so he can tend to the head. ]
Something tells me you've been watching too much TV.
no subject
Inside, the mist is infiltrating the building and Lien coughs. It feels stronger to her, but she resolves to go on, not wanting to fall for this trick again (and for Lancer to make fun of her). She opts to pull the collar of her jacket around her mouth and nostrils as she grazes her fingers against the ground every now and then to track Rider's past movements.]
