[Thank you flow of income in the form of gold...
Not that, it's the issue, nor is Arcueid thinking about how it would be pointless once he's gone. She thinks in terms of the present and the what ifs are more of a frivolous way of thinking for her.]
[And so Noctis is left alone in the room, staring up at the ceiling once more. The silence allows him a moment to reflect on the situation more readily, and he can't help but feel a sinking sensation in his stomach.
If he couldn't find a way back, what then? Was time moving on without him in his world? Would his friends be all right? And even though they could take care of themselves, their journey would be a moot point without Noctis there. It wasn't vanity that spurred him to think this way, only reason.
And what was the story about this weird girl helpgi him?
He sighs, closing his eyes. Nothing to do about it now, but sleep.]
[She takes her time when she's outside before getting the needed supplies. Arcueid should probably be more concerned than she actually is, but when she's faced with a situation that doesn't involve executing, she's the most carefree one can get. what matters to her is that Noctis turned out alright in the end and she feels that's he's strangely trustworthy, in that she doesn't sense any ill will from him.
Either she's too trusting, or maybe her instinct is correct. Maybe.
It's late afternoon by the time she gets back. The door is unlocked and she walks inside with two bags this time. One, a button up shirt folded and wrapped in plastic packaging and the other, a box, with doughnuts from a nearby bakery.]
[For once, Noctis hadn't been asleep. He had been close to it, of course -- drifting in and out, on the edge of consciousness -- but when Arcrueid walks in, he greets her from where he lays on the bed, turning his head to look in her direction.]
...Hey.
[And with a clear effort, he manages to sit up, eying the two bags.]
[He blinks, looking down at the shirt appraisingly. It's simple, but that's fine with him; Noctis doesn't need anything fancy, just something that'll cover him up.
He's in the middle of unfolding said shirt when she announces that she's brought donuts.]
Donuts? [Hey, she's got good taste.] I can feel my strength returning already.
Oh, no. I was created, but I was always a vampire to begin with.
[Arcueid waves a half eaten donut in the air as she gives the explanation.]
In this world, there are two types of vampires. Those who were vampires from their conception and those who used to be human, but were bitten and turn into vampires themselves. And those human-turned-vampires can bite other humans and that's where the problem really gets out of hand.

You do need to eat though.

[He's really going to owe her one once all this is finished, isn't he? As if he doesn't already.]
Thanks.

I'm having fun! [And she really means it, with that silly, but bright smile of hers.]
no subject
You're really weird, you know that? [But there's something resembling a smile on his face when he says that, this time.]
no subject
[It may sound petulant, but there's nothing serious or biting in her reply.]
no subject
Character flaws are best pointed out with a smile.
[He lays back down on the bed, still too tired to possess any shame.]
Guess I'll be here when you come back.
no subject
[Arcueid gives him a wave before opening the door and closing it behind her.
All falls quiet. It's a lonely room without her.]

...Hey.
[And with a clear effort, he manages to sit up, eying the two bags.]
What'd you get?
no subject
[She takes out the package and places it next to Noctis.]
And... Get ready for this...!!
Doughnuts!! [SHE HOLDS UP THE BAG VICTORIOUSLY.]

Donuts? [Hey, she's got good taste.] I can feel my strength returning already.
no subject
[Well, it helps that she looks like a gorgeous foreigner, that too.]
I got some cans of tea to wash it down too.
How are you feeling by the way?
no subject
Still sore, but not as much as before. It think the malboro's toxin has more or less worn off, though.
no subject
Oh... So the toxin isn't fatal then?
no subject
[What a lovely thought that is.]
no subject
[She brings the pastries and canned drinks over. Arcueid even takes one of the cans and pushes it against Noctis' palm.]
Eat and drink up! If you need to go to the bathroom, don't feel embarrassed to tell me!
no subject
I'm not going to be... embarrassed. I'm not a little kid.
[And then:]
...Can you pass me a donut?
no subject
[And so she hands him a chocolate icing donut with rainbow colored sprinkles.]
And you're really not a kid... I guess in comparison to me though, everyone is young!
no subject
Still, no complaints from Noct. He takes a bite.]
800 is a long time. I should be calling you grandma.
no subject
[She takes a plain glazed donut and nibbles on it.]
I don't have the experience of a grandmother for one thing. [Arc that's not the point]
no subject
Well...not that I know if vampires can have kids. But that's not the point.
no subject
[Please...]
no subject
I guess... [He pauses, deciding whether or not he should ask what he's wondering.] Is that what happened to you? 800 years ago?
