It's empty of people currently. Lien double checks by looking at alternate paths.]
Not a place I ever thought I'd take a morning walk in. It's seriously depressing.
no subject
Tch. That, I can agree with— feels like a Reality Marble made by someone with a serious grudge.

A Servant of high caliber would be able to do a lot of damage to a large area like this, right?
no subject
[ So, then, was it the Grail...? Perplexing. ]
no subject
[Awful joking aside, she settles for a patch of grass underneath a tree that keeps her slightly hidden from sight.]
This area should do. [She takes off her glasses and before she takes off her gloves.]
Lancer. It's been a while since I used my Eyes to go back more than a year and even that's pushing it. If I overdo it - and that's a big if - , bring me back to my place and be on guard for the rest of the day. Understood?
no subject
Understood. Don't push it too hard, kiddo.

Lien gets on her knees and pulls both of her gloves off. The energy around her hands gives off a low hum. She positions her hands on the grass, clutching onto the green blades as if they were her only anchor. Eyes closed, she takes a deep breath and finally takes the plunge.
The prana flows from her hands into the ground... And suddenly it shoots back through her circuits, shocking her eyes open.
Her form of Mystic Eyes looked liked the blue surface of an ocean. An endless, yet empty sea, entranced within itself.]

He finds his grip tightening on his lance despite himself. This girl may be largely untrained, but she's not without tremendous skills of her own. ]

Her Eyes saw people who walked through the park, but mostly hurried through, unable to stand the atmosphere. Men, women, children, groups of friends, some punks... All came and went so easily... Maintenance...
No, this isn't enough. There was more before.
Her hands grip the ground even more firmly and she feels herself falling deeper and deeper...
Night in Fuyuki. Residents. People. Lien is and isn't part of this memory and she watches on, seeing some lights from the houses. It was warm. Nostalgic. Some children were going home with their parents, hand in hand.
That's when she felt it. The heat. The smell. People looked towards the source and their eyes widened with horror. Lien looked with them and before she could even blink, she was hit with a wave of...
Mud.]

On the one hand, she's not knocked out, something she's surprised by. On the other hand, she feels like there was a leftover sensation of burning on the surface of her skin.]
I... I.... Shit....
no subject
When she falls, Lancer is there to pull her back up, none-too-gently, one hand gripped on her upper arm to bring her onto her feet and up into his arms. ]
Tch. This is only our first day, Lien, slow it down.
[ Not that he's one to talk, but. ]
no subject
That... That was... God, that wasn't a fire.
no subject
[ He really should have bought that shirt, now he has to carry her in armor. Ah, well. ]
no subject
Don't touch--...!!
[Wait, too harsh. Too much. She calms down.]
Give me a minute to catch my breath. I'll be able to walk back.
[Stubborn? Yeah, probably.]
no subject
He wonders if she copped a feel, though. Did she see something about him? ]
Alright, alright, fine. But if you fall over, I'm carrying you back.
no subject
[A mostly non-response. Her gloves are put back on and she makes her way out of the park as quickly as possible.
▼
The rest of the walk home is non-eventful and Lien doesn't say a word about what she just saw. It's past noon by the time they get back. When she opens the door to her place...]
... Okay, I give up.
[Cue, flopping to the ground and rolling on her back so that she's staring up at the ceiling.]
no subject
You're as stubborn as a damn mule, you know that?
no subject
[A dry reply.]
I feel like my skin is still burning...
no subject
You want a glass of water?
[ he says this incredibly casually, but not without a hint of well-meaning under the languid half-smile; as someone with a huge amount of pride running under his easygoingness, it's a big thing for him to offer this up to someone he's, for all intents and purposes, just met. ]
no subject
[She turns her head towards him, with a surprised (perhaps even touched?) look. Lien nods.]
Yes please.
no subject
Glass of water, coming up.
[ And he makes good on that a few seconds later, when he sets said glass down next to her head. ]
no subject
[Lien doesn't get up, opting instead to dip her nearest hand inside the cup and taking it out so the water drips down from her fingertips to her face.
She's... not ladylike at all. This day spent with this Master is saying that much.]
Ahhhh. Better.
[She closes her eyes.]
What I saw in the park... It looked like it was mud. Like, maybe it was lava??
no subject
Lava?
[ he racks his mind for the knowledge he's been endowed with upon his summoning, and draws upon it. ]
Doesn't make sense, if there aren't any mountains around. Was it something that was summoned?
no subject
But it was enough to kill the people that used to live there... if that was the result of the last war...
no subject
[ He says it with no amount of cheerfulness, disdain tinging the corner of his voice. ]
That's some pretty ugly business. Can't say I'm too thrilled about the idea of that sort of stuff happening again.
