...Heard anything about a guy chopping off heads in the news, lately?

[ jerks a thumb towards the television. ]

Don't be silly.

If you're gonna behead someone, you gotta keep the head too you know.

What would the head be for? A trophy?

[ Don't ask him if he's ever beheaded anyone before, he probably has. ]

There's probably some bad spells that need human heads.

Either that, or you keep the skull to talk to when you need company.

She pulls on her gloves and flexes her fingers.]

Anyways, think you can crush the head this time?

[lansaigh]

[ Getting up on his feet, he stretches for a good few seconds, pulling out taut muscles and loosening them for their walk and eventual fight; as casual as an athlete going for their routine jog. ]

Are you really gonna ask that to a guy who's strangled a dog before?

[psychometer]

And don't forget the horse.

[She grins.]

You're kicking his ass and making sure it stays down tonight, you hear?

[lansaigh]

[ A breath of a laugh, and he taps the blunt end of Gae Bolg against the floor. ]

For my pride, and for our spoken friendship. Sure thing, little lady.

... Mm.

[Don't wish, don't wish, don't wish...

Her smile softens as if touched by what he said. It's brief since she moves past him to grab her jacket and head to the door.]

I'm depending you.

[lansaigh]

[ And as she brushes by, he puts his hand on her head the way he always does, patting once, twice, before also moving to step outside. ]

I'm not gonna give you a reason to be disappointed, so don't worry your little head.

I think I'll just disappoint myself.

[An unsaid detriment to herself. But he didn't have to hear it. She says it to herself because a small pain is better than piling on the hope and having it hit harder later.

It's gotten foggier in the city, something that doesn't bode well to Lien. While it's not completely Rider's magic mist, the fact that his energy has spread out over a wider area, thin as it was, isn't good news whatsoever.]

He better not have made a bigger boundary unless he's planning to go jogging all around the goddamn place.

[lansaigh]

If he can do all of this as just a head and a borrowed body, we're in for some fun tonight.

[ This is Caster-levels of prana, if Rider can extend his influence over such a wide area. But Lancer isn't too worried, given that a wide range of thin prana isn't as strong as a concentrated amount of it in one place; he's confident that he can win out in strength, either way. ]

Not too shabby. I'm exercising as much caution as possible though.

[She exhales into her hands as she walks down the street, in the part of the city that isn't heavily populated so they wouldn't run into too many civilians.

Lien starts off in the direction of the bridge, but stops and turns her head towards one of the tall buildings.]

... Guess he's moved the fun somewhere else though.

[lansaigh]

[ He's had enough of that bridge, so he doesn't protest as Lien takes another turn towards a different part of the city, looking up at the rows of tall buildings with a detached, languid look. ]

Let the guy pick out his own grave, we can give him that much.

[ how is cu this confident all the time??? who knows ]

I have a feeling we're gonna have to Die Hard again. And by that, I mean the battleground's gonna be another dangerously tall building.

[As they approach, Lien's looking back and forth among the structures, trying to determine which one holds their enemy.]

[lansaigh]

I'm starting to think you're attracted to Hans, or Hans types are attracted to you. Don't know if I wanna know which.

[ Lancer also concentrates for a bit on the buildings looming in front of them, before he goes for the one on their immediate right. No hesitation on his part. ]

[psychometer]

[She makes a disgusted face and gags I'm sorry she's not attracted even to young Alan Rickman.

Anyways, she trusts his senses more than hers and follows after him.]

Look, it's just our luck that our fights take place in an urbanized city.

Although that reminds me, we haven't gotten around to watching the movie yet have we?? Better fix that soon.

[lansaigh]

[ How dare she...

The building is predictably empty, and looks like it has been for a while— strange, given the condition that it's in, but there's a thin dustiness to it that suggests that it's been abandoned for a good week or so. ]

Yeah, I don't even know what this Hans guy looks like. Is he a warrior or something?

[ ALAN RICKMAN, WARRIOR EXTRAORDINAIRE

Closing his eyes for a second, Cu listens for the slight movements in prana before heading towards the elevators. ]

[psychometer]

[Cu Chulainn and then Rickman... look it's no contest for her...]

He's kind of a jerk, that's what he is. Look, we'll watch the movie and you'll see what I mean.

[She stops, coughing slightly as they head to the elevators.]

Ugh. Dusty. [There's also the matter of how having to encounter Rider meant having to deal with whatever boundaries he's set and if he's in this building, who knows what he's got in store right now.]

Should I stay behind?

[lansaigh]

[ The elevator is fully functional, and it thrums to life once Cu presses the button to go up. Not that he really needs to, because he can crash through ceilings again, but he has a feeling that somehow he can chill out a little with that one. ]

Well. You should, if you don't want to get caught in the crossfire.

[ A shrug to go along with that, before he turns his head to look over his shoulder at the smaller figure. ]

But I'm not gonna stop you if you want to tag along.

[psychometer]

[Suddenly, she gives a quick and sharp headbutt to his back.]

I'll stop at a certain point and from there on out I'll handle myself.

[lansaigh]

Yeah, yeah.

[ There's a soft "ding", and the elevator doors slide open. Stepping in, Lancer pushes the button for the top floor with little hesitation, and then keeps his hand poised over the panel. ]

Which floor, miss?

[ Teasingly sarcastic. ]

[psychometer]

[Before she answers, she picks up on a distinctive noise. It's coming from the room which is several floors away from where they are.

Lien puts up a hand to indicate to Lancer to let her focus as she tries to focus on her hearing. The more they listen the more it sounds like the revving of an engine.]


... Alright. If that's what I think it is, then I'm just going to declare this week over. Because seriously, nothing is going to top what I think is on the roof.
