Premise

Okeanos has been conquered a long while ago and yet there is yet ANOTHER observed irregularity in the middle of the ocean. The waters are eerily calm, the sky is clear with only a few white clouds dotting the sky. There is no land in sight. What is there instead, but a titan of a cruise ship full of luxuries such as fully furnished bedrooms, an indoor waterpark, an equipped gym for exercise and sports, an industrial kitchen with a stocked cabinet of food supplies, a ballroom, a mini-golf course, bowling... And more!

The Servants of Chaldea aren't slackers by any means, but a little more fun can't hurt, right? But maybe this time around, things won't be as straightforward as it seems...

"Chaldea Phantasm" is an open sandbox RP post for players to roleplay in the setting based on the mobile game, Fate Grand Order and the Fate franchise. You can play out scenarios between Master and Servant(s), Servants fighting each other, monsters, material/event grinding, AUs, etc.

This post will have actual prompts that can be used at your leisure! Otherwise, feel free to write up your own scenario.

A) Waku Waku Splash!

A certain child king has brought it upon himself to deck out the indoor swimming pool with his own personal touches so everyone can have an exciting and enjoyable experience. There's a current pool, a wave pool, a HUGE water slide, and even pools for diving and racing. You know what this means! Swimsuits! There are rules in place to keep the peace and one of them is of particular note.

"Troublemakers will be banned from Waku Waku if they are caught misbehaving, disturbing and/or be harassing our female guests. The following guests have been banned:"

B) Fate/Grand Blue

This is your more general SOL prompt. Have a walk around the beautiful cruise ship. Enjoy the blue sky! Maybe do some fishing. Raid the fridge or wait until the Kitchen Moms of Chaldea create a fantastic spread for everyone. Reenact that scene from the Titanic (except the boat sinking part). There's a karaoke machine in one of the lounges that might be fun to do!

C) A Study in Ocean Blue

SPECIAL EVENT

A body has been found in the ballroom! The poor deceased man looks as if he was the captain of the ship. There may be several clues littered around the ballroom and into the captain's quarters that may lead to an answer! Or not? Make sure the body doesn't disappear and don't run into ghosts on the bottom floors of the ship if you try to solve this mystery!

(For this prompt, feel free to write the mystery any way you want! Comedy option is that the body disappears, serious option, it was ghosts.)

E) Fatal Battle!?

Something sinister and monstrous this way comes.

The more keen-eyed and alert Servants may have noticed a presence that has marked this oceanic singularity as a threat and it comes in the form of a titanic Water Dragon. The cruise ship trembles as the beast approaches, angry that its territory has been invaded. Hopefully, our more skilled Riders will take the wheel and navigate around it safely, but it's up to you to subdue the dragon ~~and try not to get swallowed whole, there's a whole other level inside and maybe valuable mats and a Grail!?~~.

[Truthfully, UNDOUBTEDLY, Robin should have seen it coming a mile away. Hindsight is 20/20, unfortunately. While he has good eyes and good reads on people, maybe he's a little TOO RELAXED. He kind of watches as if he's separated from his body as Sanson grips the noodle with both hands and pulls back to swing.

It's so obvious. It would be simple to dodge it.

But it's almost like he can't believe Sanson has the actual nerve to beam him in the head with the noodle he GAVE TO HIM. Maybe he's still shocked from hearing a thanks be directed at him. The most undignified sound/curse ever escapes him as he stumbles over his own legs to find his balance again.

A misstep and he's free falling to the pool.]

SHI──

[SPA-LOOSH.]

[No doubt Sanson expected Robin would try to dodge or evade the noodle swinging toward his general direction, and he only belatedly realized that once he put his plan into action. So it was a bit of a surprise when he scores a critical hit and Robin falls into the pool with an almighty splash.

Music to Sanson's ears.

He's standing there...although he scoots backward a touch, pool noodle still in hand as though expecting a duel, and grins. Let him bask in his moment of victory first before he joins Robin in the pool, okay.]

Now that was fun. [Sanson even gives way to soft but irrepressible chuckling.]

[The last thing he expects when he breaks the surface, shaking his hair like a dog and wiping the water out of his ANGRY ANGRY EYES, is chuckling. He looks up at Sanson standing over him, still on the edge of the pool, actually laughing. And not evilly or anything.

What the fuck.

It's probably AT him. At Sanson getting a miracle of a smack onto him with the noodle but lo and behold -- the shy and stuck-up lord can actually have a good time. At Robin's expense, of course.

Of course Robin is pissed about being smacked into the pool and he will absolutely get payback, but he's... what, relieved? Maybe relieved that Sanson isn't melancholy and serious all the time. IT'S JUST AT HIS FUCKING EXPENSE, THOUGH.

He swims with a scowl to the edge of the pool and then folds his Archer arms across it. His shirt is soaked, he's soaked. Not even for the first time today.

Out of the corner of his eye he spots a green noodle. Sanson can keep that purple one. This one is better.

Because A) it's green

B) It's going to be his weapon to see the French technique of ungracefully fall into the pool.

Keep on laughing, milord. Robin doesn't waste the opportunity of having Sason's guard down. It doesn't happen often. He's too busy having fun over making the Green Archer LOOK THE FOOL, so it's easy for Robin to bring his arm back with his weapon and try and knock his feet out from under him.]

[Sanson should have taken that opportunity to deny Robin this chance. But no, he wanted to enjoy his golden opportunity to revel in his victory. He notices only a moment too late that Robin is no longer in front of him and when he starts glancing around frantically -

It's too late.

His eyes widen at the sight of Robin reaching out with a green pool noodle to trip him, and though he attempts to sidestep, Sanson grossly miscalculates and even tries to balance with the noodle Robin had so graciously handed to him (??!).

Great. Still clutching the purple pool noodle in one hand, Sanson slips and falls into the water as well.]

Aaaah - !

[REST IN PIECES]

[He's right. That was fun. He just doesn't have problems with FINDING FUN like Purple Noodler.

Never has karma ever been so sweet to him.

It's worth the splash he gets in his face because he was too close. Though he has to wipe the water out of his eyes again. Yeah, it's a worthy trade.]

Hahaha! It wasn't a Whale Goddess Level Splash but hey, it wasn't bad!

[On the other hand, once he surfaces with a gasp, Sanson completely expects laughter from Robin. But he's glad to have splashed Robin in the face on his way down. There's that.

His hair is sopping and he has to shake it out of his eyes; a nightmare, considering how thick and unruly his hair normally is. And like Robin, his shirt - not to mention the rest of him - is utterly, undeniably soaked.

Yeah, this is karma. But oh well. He narrows his eyes at Robin.]

Oh, then maybe I should do better than "not bad"!

[With both hands (letting his pool noodle float idly beside him), Sanson splashes Robin with all his might. Right in the face.

EN GARDE.]

[When the small tidal wave is gone, he's... he's just standing there. Eyes closed. Unmoving. Bangs dripping and hair plastered to his head.

Once more, he has to shake his head (DROPLETS INCOMING) and wipe his face clear of water.

Is this them bickering like they always do? Getting on each other's nerves? He's annoyed but there's something else, too. He keeps a hold on his noodle but twists his body, smirk in place.]

Hah! Your other splash was much better!

[Then, he splashes his own wave at Sanson's face with his forearms.]

[Maybe they are bickering like always, except that this time, it wasn't entirely unwelcome. It felt more like...a competition? A game? And neither of them were willing to admit it? It was one way to get even with Robin after all their real fights and disagreements, so Sanson will welcome this development.

The droplets don't faze him, but when Robin decides to create a wave with his BUFF ARCHER ARM, Sanson grabs his pool noodle and tries to shield his face with it and his free arm.

Was it even possible to get more drenched than he already was? Apparently, yes. He slicks back his damp hair from his face and straightens up.]

Funny, I can say the same for yours!

[Sanson draws back to retaliate, using his forearms as well but creating three consecutive splashes.

Manchildren.]

[How is that skinny ass noodle working as a shield, boyo?

This is like... yeah, it's like going head on with another Servant. It's like fighting on the Moon Cell with Dan. Something like his battles now -- fights he can look back on and not pray he'll just forget one day when he dies because it makes him sick.

They're just not fighting to the death. He can be a MANCHILD.]

Yeah? Let's see what you think about this!

[He gets an idea after Sanson's splash. Taking a deep breath, he plunges beneath the surface and disappears for a moment. Only a blurry image of his orange/blond/WHATEVER hair and his green clothes swimming... closer...

What's he doing?

A hand suddenly grabs Sanson's ankle AND PULLS HARD.]

[Yeah no the pool noodle makes a terrible shield. Sanson can be so dumb sometimes.

This was also Sanson's way of making up for the chunk of his youth he never got to enjoy; after all, he was only a teenager when he began to assist in tortures and executions, and when his grandmother began petitioning for the papers for his appointment as the next Monsieur de Paris. Not to mention, he spent his childhood living under the shame of his family name and profession, and didn't have a lot of friends who'd play silly games with him.

Was Robin a friend? Did he count? Maybe.

When Sanson notices Robin vanish below the surface, his mind quickly begins going through every possible move Robin would have up his sleeve. He tries to back away as Robin approaches - only to feel something - or someONE - grab his ankle.

He just has time to gasp and hold his breath as he's yanked underwater, and when he sees Robin grasping his ankle, Sanson glares deeply at him.

Then he reaches out to grab Robin's head of orange/blond/GINGER (probably) hair in order to push him down while attempting to swim back up and pull his ankle free WOW THAT'S RUDE HOW LOW CAN YOU GO

(Robin Hood, master of sabotage.)]

[Don't call him a friend. NEVER. It's better when this is antagonistic and he can think of Sanson as some funny rival that's easier to rile than Casko. He can stomach relationships like that. Ones where he's hated rather than liked by any margin.

Sanson glares and Robin grins back in challenge. As well as he can with his cheeks puffed with air, bubbles slipping out.

A burst of it escapes him when his head is shoved down. Yelling underwater is BAD IDEA!!! He struggles and tries to shove Sanson off with one hand while the other keeps a hold of his leg. There is much splashing.

HE CAN GO LOWER!!!!]

[Well, Sanson would never call Robin a friend either. At least not to his face. It was better to think of him as a rival, maybe an ally at most.

In the back of his mind, Sanson can't believe he's splashing around with and struggling against this guy. What's at the forefront of his mind is that he didn't really take a good breath before he was pulled under so he has to make this count. He grits his teeth and clamps his mouth shut as if trying to look stoic in the face of Robin's grin. YOU CAN'T INTIMIDATE HIM!!!

The shove takes Sanson by surprise, and he nearly yelps as well. He's unable to stop himself in time though, and a few air bubbles escape his slightly open mouth. He lets go of Robin's head...

...only to flash a split-second smirk before suddenly diving down toward where Robin is gripping his leg - as much as he can, anyway, with his ankle still captured. Instead of attempting to yank himself from Robin's grasp or even pulling Robin off, Sanson just pinches the area between Robin's thumb and forefinger.

Hard.

Yeah, Sanson can play dirty too. Especially with a knowledge of humans' weak spots.]

[OW?????!!!!

No, he grips harder instead of letting go. He's cursing up a storm in his head, though. His wide-eyed and angry expression turns onto the Monsieur de Paris.

A headbutt would work in knocking him away, but it's way less effective underwater. They'd probably just end up bumping foreheads gently. He can't stay like this much longer without air either, but he needs to get Sanson back for pinching him like that. IT HURT.

He's not above using people's own moves against them. He reaches up towards Sanson's hair, grabs the back of it, and SHOVES DOWN TO MAKE HIM DO A FLIP WHILE HE FLOATS THERE AND PINCHES HIM.]

[Talk about giving a doctor a dose of his own medicine.

Sanson's plan just backfired. He had been banking on finally getting Robin to let go and he's probably mentally going over every curse word he can think of in both English and French. Though he's unfazed by Robin's enraged expression, what gets him is Robin grabbing him by his hair.

Life is hard when your hair is thick and you have a lot of it. It means Robin easily grabs a chunk and successfully pulls him back. Sanson can feel his entire world flip over as he tries to reach up to pry Robin off him; it's not a pleasant feeling especially considering that he desperately needs a breath of air.

What he didn't expect was Robin actually pinching him right back. He should've known, and he snarls in pain and frustration through tightly shut lips.]

[That's what he gets for trying to get him to take medicine when he was hungover. Mostly for pinching his hand.

If you're in the audience, the view out of water is just a lot of splashing and flailing limbs.

Until Robin can't hold his breath anymore. He releases Sanson's hair and ankle in one go and breaks for air with a loud gasp and then panting as he treads water, pushing his bangs out of his face.]

Is the [PANT] monsieur trying out [PANT] new ways of torture? Huh? Milord?

[He was only doing that because HE CARES ABOUT YOU, ROBIN?? HE DOESN'T WANT TO SEE YOU HUNGOVER AND BEING STUPIDER THAN USUAL?

The audience is probably too fascinated to report their shenanigans to the nearest bouncer.

The moment Robin finally lets go, Sanson hurriedly rights himself and paddles to the surface, exhaling the breath he had been holding for too long on the way up. He emerges only a second after Robin, gasping and coughing and with his dripping hair clinging to the top and sides of his head. As well as his face.

Just in time to hear Robin. Of course.]

You -

[He can't see, but at least he was facing Robin instead of yelling in some random direction. Sanson wipes his hair away from his eyes and pinches his nose irritably.]

What else [gasp] - did you expect [pant] me to do? You pulled me under!

[WHAT???!!! CARE? CARE??? CARE??? Maybe he did get that, but that's why he was more of an ass. Don't care about him.

But the migraine of a headache didn't help his mood, either.

He's beginning to catch his breath again and he reaches for his noodle, that still managed SOMEHOW to remain floating nearby. He uses that to keep afloat because he is Tired.]

Quit blaming me for everything, oi! You started it!

[FIVE YEAR OLDS.

In fact, Robin is going to smack some water in Sanson's direction again.]

[Here we go again with the splashing. Sanson braces one arm against his face to shield it from Robin flicking water toward him again.]

Me?! [He's outraged. While kicking to remain afloat, Sanson grabs his own noodle (it's a bit of a reach but at least it's within reach) and pokes Robin's with it.] No, you kept badgering me, which means you started it!

[Each emphasized "you" is further punctuated with pokes of the purple noodle.

THEY'RE SUCH FIVE YEAR OLDS IT'S TRUE.]

[Sanson attempts to avoid getting prodded by the noodle, but he is effectively jabbed. Still, he does stop poking Robin with his. Even if he would like to bean Robin in the head again JUST FOR THAT JAB ABOUT HIS MEMORY he doesn't need to be reminded about what happened in Orleans.

Instead, with a smarmy grin the Cheshire Cat would've been proud of, Sanson folds his arms on top of his noodle (oh good, he doesn't have to keep kicking) and looks directly at Robin.]

But remember, you wanted me to prove that I can relax and have fun. Perhaps it's your memory that needs to be checked?

[Well, at least he doesn't sound as angry as before.]

[Sanson doesn't sound angry and he makes a point. One that's... not wrong. One that means he's been relaxing and having fun by splashing him and fighting underwater. As well as knocking him in the pool. As much as he dislikes that grin on his face, when he thinks back on it, they had been messing around like boys.

Silently, Robin stops his prodding and moves the noodle around so he's sitting on it like a swing. And floating.

He wouldn't ever ever eVER admit it, but Robin had been trying to get Sanson to loosen up. In his own way. Always always alWAYS.]

My memory's fine. [When he's not boozing it up.] You're saying your version of having fun is seeing me suffer, aren't you?

[Maybe Sanson should knock Robin off his high horse - or off his pool noodle. The thought occurs to him; it might be fun. Yeah, didn't they have fun? Even though Robin played dirty and the two of them tussled like kids?

He never got opportunities like this in his life to loosen up. Not many, anyway. May as well seize it especially if it has the bonus of messing with Robin.

They look ridiculous right now though, probably, floating there and still arguing and still wearing their shirts.]

You suffered? [Sanson actually lets out a laugh. [Sanson takes a lot of things seriously, even if they're supposed to be relaxing during a vacation. He just tilts his head slightly to get a better look at his rival, since his vantage point is lower. Unlike Robin, he didn't decide to use his pool noodle like a seat.]

Who said I was going to use the noodle?

[He just lets that sentence hang before adding:]

By the way, I have to say, the look on your face when I pushed you was priceless. I'd give almost anything to see it again.

[One split second pause, and Sanson quickly extends one arm to SHOVE THE NOODLE ROBIN IS SITTING ON in an attempt to upset his balance.

ROUND 2 HAS BEGUN.]

[It hangs and Robin raises an eyebrow in confusion. What else is he going to use? There's not an actual stick up his ass.

Robin might have said something like: "Sorry to disappoint you, but you're not going to see it again. No matter how much you beg."

This is what comes out instead.]

What!?

[His balance is upset. He sinks backwards into the water and his feet kick out, trying to find it again. He's going down... but not without a fight. NOT WITHOUT A BANG.

It's a splash. That's his bang.]
