[It was another night in the town of Blackgale, with no moon in sight to set the dark sky aglow amid the blanket of stars. The lack of moonlight, however, was not stopping the local (and only) witch, Amelia Steinbeck, from doing a much needed patrol for this particular night. After all, when a demon from the darkest realm from who knows where comes to ones doorstep with the intention of murder, there's probably others lurking around.

That wasn't going to do, not at all.


Of course, she had to be at school soon for an early morning meeting... But hey, it's high school and she was always on time no matter what, thanks to magic. And thus, Amelia began to wander around in the streets, with a green flame flickering in one hand-- only visible to her, other magic users, and a magnet for more demons.

I think I was called a functional alcoholic at some point.

Is... that supposed to be a compliment or an insult?

Considering who it came from, I think it was a backhanded compliment.

Six glasses hardly makes an alcoholic. If it were six bottles, I might have to worry about you.

There's hope for me yet then.

Just don't overdo it. I'd rather you still be conscious by the end of the night.

Just don't tell anyone. I have a reputation to uphold.

Thank you. [ he finishes off the rest of his drink, and almost looks like he's going to order another, but decides against it. ]

You know though, I just remembered; I said ten years ago that if you ever came back, I'd serve you tea.

It's a little late for that now, isn't it?

[recluserose]

Yes. Yes it is. Shame really, I should have kept my word.

[spellbent]

It's not like I have to leave anytime soon, you know.

[recluserose]

[Glances at him] Were you planning to?

[spellbent]

[ He shrugs ] I'm pretty sure I can compensate for the time difference between worlds whenever I do go back, since now I know there is one. I can probably stay a day or two, if you don't mind the company.

[recluserose]

... I wouldn't mind so long as you stay out of trouble.

[spellbent]

I can't promise trouble won't find me, but I promise not to start any.

[recluserose]

That's a good promise as any. You're going to need a place to stay though.

[spellbent]

I suppose I am.
