I'm showering and then I'll sleep until we head out tonight. Until then, you can dematerialize. Got it?

Thankfully, the expression is subtle. ]
Loud and clear. Sleep well, little lady.

[And with that, she disappears into the bathroom and the door closes.
I don't have a wish, I don't have a wish, I don't have a wish.
It's repeated like a mantra. Lien turns on the water, waiting for it to turn warm as she takes off her piercings.
I don't have a wish.
What drove her to ask him such a question? Because she wished for it. Lien never had a friend aside from her twin and after all they've been through, the Master wasn't certain if it was actually alright to call the being protecting her, a friend. But she got her answer. Lien essentially got what she wanted, right?? So one way or another, there was nothing else to want. But she was only temporarily content with the confirmation of their connection and that bothered her. If he could leave her on those terms, wouldn't that be enough?
I don't have a wish.
Next, the gloves come off. The water is warm by now, but Lien takes a minute to just examine herself in the mirror. Nothing had changed, really. Her hair could use a trim. Lien was already nineteen, but neither she or Ai quite looked their age and she idly wondered if it was because of that nightmarish period in their lives that stunted something or if they were still in the process of growing. Her mind wandered off again as it so often did, wondering why her looks were suddenly so important to her and why she thought about what his point of view was...]

"Come back when you're older and I have more to grab".She GROANS, hands pressed against her face, and squatting to the floor as if surrendering. Lien had inadvertently made herself really, really, REALLY, annoyed upon recalling that foolish banter. By all means, she would have forgotten about such a comment since she had a remarkable ability to forget about things she didn't care about.
Too bad it came back to haunt her because suddenly she cared. She cared and she hated herself for it. And whether she's cursing herself or the Heroic Spirit out in the living room, is up to debate, but she mutters a very angry:]
Oh, screw you!
[And with that, she throws off her clothes and takes a shower, adjusting the water so that it's a little cooler than intended.]
ACHOO!
[Ok, so maybe a cold shower wasn't the best idea, but it's not going to incapacitate her. After several hours, she's emerged from her room, hair neatly braided, and squinting outside the window from the kitchen.]
Mm. Still foggy, but hopefully it won't get worse.

If he knew she cared, he'd call her stupid— he'd laugh— but as he lingers around, invisible, in the small space of Lien's living room, he comes to the conclusion that the bullheadedness is, in fact, cute.
He has a feeling this is going to boomerang back and bite him in the ass, but, well. What hasn't? Might as well enjoy it while he can.
The sneezing is what brings Lancer drifting back into the here and now, appearing in the same position as where she'd left him a few hours ago, Gae Bolg resting across his chest. ]
Knowing who we'll be dealing with, it can. [ Thanks, Mr. Headless. ] Bring a flashlight or two with you.
no subject
[Too bad Headless isn't a gremlin...]
Wonder if his head's found a new body or if he's recovered. Lord forbid he finds another horse.
no subject
[ How morbid... horses are more likely, though. ]

[THAT'S GRUESOME LIEN]
no subject
...Heard anything about a guy chopping off heads in the news, lately?
[ jerks a thumb towards the television. ]
no subject
If you're gonna behead someone, you gotta keep the head too you know.
[LIEN....]
no subject
[ Don't ask him if he's ever beheaded anyone before, he probably has. ]
no subject
Either that, or you keep the skull to talk to when you need company.
[
Like a certain detective she knew in another universeShe pulls on her gloves and flexes her fingers.]
Anyways, think you can crush the head this time?
no subject
Are you really gonna ask that to a guy who's strangled a dog before?
no subject
[She grins.]
You're kicking his ass and making sure it stays down tonight, you hear?
no subject
For my pride, and for our spoken friendship. Sure thing, little lady.
no subject
[Don't wish, don't wish, don't wish...
Her smile softens as if touched by what he said. It's brief since she moves past him to grab her jacket and head to the door.]
I'm depending you.
no subject
I'm not gonna give you a reason to be disappointed, so don't worry your little head.
no subject
[An unsaid detriment to herself. But he didn't have to hear it. She says it to herself because a small pain is better than piling on the hope and having it hit harder later.
It's gotten foggier in the city, something that doesn't bode well to Lien. While it's not completely Rider's magic mist, the fact that his energy has spread out over a wider area, thin as it was, isn't good news whatsoever.]
He better not have made a bigger boundary unless he's planning to go jogging all around the goddamn place.
no subject
[ This is Caster-levels of prana, if Rider can extend his influence over such a wide area. But Lancer isn't too worried, given that a wide range of thin prana isn't as strong as a concentrated amount of it in one place; he's confident that he can win out in strength, either way. ]
How're you feeling?
no subject
[She exhales into her hands as she walks down the street, in the part of the city that isn't heavily populated so they wouldn't run into too many civilians.
Lien starts off in the direction of the bridge, but stops and turns her head towards one of the tall buildings.]
... Guess he's moved the fun somewhere else though.
no subject
Let the guy pick out his own grave, we can give him that much.
[ how is cu this confident all the time??? who knows ]
no subject
[As they approach, Lien's looking back and forth among the structures, trying to determine which one holds their enemy.]
no subject
[ Lancer also concentrates for a bit on the buildings looming in front of them, before he goes for the one on their immediate right. No hesitation on his part. ]
no subject
I'm sorry she's not attracted even to young Alan Rickman.Anyways, she trusts his senses more than hers and follows after him.]
Look, it's just our luck that our fights take place in an urbanized city.
Although that reminds me, we haven't gotten around to watching the movie yet have we?? Better fix that soon.
no subject
How dare she...The building is predictably empty, and looks like it has been for a while— strange, given the condition that it's in, but there's a thin dustiness to it that suggests that it's been abandoned for a good week or so. ]
Yeah, I don't even know what this Hans guy looks like. Is he a warrior or something?
[ ALAN RICKMAN, WARRIOR EXTRAORDINAIRE
Closing his eyes for a second, Cu listens for the slight movements in prana before heading towards the elevators. ]
