[One hand absent-mindedly comes up to rub at his neck, OH GOD...]

Good, then you do have an idea!

[She sees you doing that Noctis, c'mon.]

I didn't drain you last night, by the way. We'd have a different set of problems if that happened.

[somnum]

[He is not sure that is very... reassuring, that you didn't "drain" him.

He stares for a moment, unblinking. He furrows his brows together.]

Yeah, I think we would. I like my blood where it is -- inside of my body. And you don't exactly fit my mental image of what a vampire is.

[Honestly, Noct looks more like a vampire than she does. Dressed in all black, and whatnot.]

[Arcueid chuckles as if pleased.]

Hehe. I'll take that as a compliment. I've gotten that before you know!

[somnum]

[Noctis raises a brow. What a weird girl.

He props himself up on his elbows, looking at her skeptically.]

I can see why. [Since she appears open to talking about these sorts of things, he ventures with another question.] So why didn't you "drain" me? Isn't that what vampires are supposed to do?

I haven't tasted blood in over 800 years. Don't really want to start now in all honesty.

[A vampire that doesn't drink blood? A funny vamp for sure.]

...Not that I'm telling you to do otherwise, so just you know.

[arctype]

I don't want to?

[Is it really simple as that?]

[somnum]

[But Arcueid?? Isn't that what you're supposed to do????

He flops back down on the bed, huffing out an "ow".]

Because it hurts people?

[He's just trying to figure out who he's dealing with, here.]

[arctype]

... Yeah. That's just about it.

[Arcueid falls into a contemplative silence before continuing.]

You saw me kill that monster that followed you. Normal humans wouldn't stand a chance against me.

And there's no real reason to drink. I can do it, but there's no purpose for it.

[somnum]

[He's quiet for a moment. He's not sure what to say about that, though he does feel grateful that she's more inclined to help than to hurt. He would've been dead for certain, otherwise.

Of course, now he feels as if he's made things awkward, and he's not good with unravelling this sort of feeling in the air. And so, he shifts a little, clearing his throat.]

Then I guess I'm lucky I warped into your presence, rather than a vampire who'd rather make me their dinner, huh?

Oh, definitely! You'd be beyond hope for sure!

[Well, she's perked up again. That was quick.]

[He actually laughs a little at that.]

Thanks a lot.

[He grows silent for a moment more.]

...I know you said you don't know how to help me. But do you know anyone else who can? I need to get back to Eos. The people I left there will be useless without me.

[It's his own dry intonation of a joke... maybe.]

I have my connections, but they're spread out around the world. Sounds like time's going to be an issue, so contacting them just for them too look at your case would be too much.

[Arcueid puts her arms down to her sides, thinking.]

There's the Mage's Association and The Church, but... Ah, I don't think you'd want to deal with either of them. Both groups are nosy and the former would have their minds blown if they found out that you come from another world and saw your type of magic. They'd think you'd be a way to their most desired object of study and we don't have time for that nonsense either.

[somnum]

[He wrinkles his nose at that, frowning up at the ceiling.]

I'd rather not become someone's guinea pig if I can help it. Is my magic really that unheard of here?

[Not that it's very common where you're from, Noctis.]

Well, there's magecraft and then there's magic. Kind of two different beasts to tackle here and there's only a few people who can perform the latter.

But don't worry about it. You're supposed to go back where you come from.

[somnum]

How am I not supposed to worry about it? Going back is the problem, isn't it?

[He sits up, fully this time, testing his shoulder.]

If I can try warping again, maybe the same will happen, except backwards. I'll be sent home this time, and I can get back to what I'm supposed to be doing.

[Except there's the issue with his shoulder. A little hard to throw a weapon and warp the way he did, when it's hurting the way it does now.]

That's a good idea as any. Maybe you could wait until it's nighttime too!

... And when your shoulder gets better.

That could take weeks. You really expect me to wait that long?

[arctype]

I don't know about weeks... Don't you have any magic that heals?

[somnum]

I didn't exactly bring any healing "curatives" with me. [-as Ignis would say. But he isn't here now, is he?] If bandages are all we've got to work with, I'm just going to have to heal the old fashioned way.

...And I'm going to have to figure out a place to stay in the meantime.

[How inconvenient.]

Well.

You're staying here already!

You're letting me stay here and you barely know anything about me. [Is she really that generous, or just naive?]

[A little bit of both. Or she's just not that worried in general.]

It wouldn't be the first time.

And besides, if not knowing anything about you is an issue, there's a good way to solve that. Talking to each other!

[somnum]

[She has no reason to be worried where Noctis is concerned. Though he does find it a little strange that this seems to be something that's happened to her before.]

...all right.

[He almost argues against the idea, but again, he feels like he doesn't have the energy for it. That, and it's only fair, if he's going to be crashing on her couch until they get this issue settled.]
