[It was another night in the town of Blackgale, with no moon in sight to set the dark sky aglow amid the blanket of stars. The lack of moonlight, however, was not stopping the local (and only) witch, Amelia Steinbeck, from doing a much needed patrol for this particular night. After all, when a demon from the darkest realm from who knows where comes to ones doorstep with the intention of murder, there's probably others lurking around.

That wasn't going to do, not at all.


Of course, she had to be at school soon for an early morning meeting... But hey, it's high school and she was always on time no matter what, thanks to magic. And thus, Amelia began to wander around in the streets, with a green flame flickering in one hand-- only visible to her, other magic users, and a magnet for more demons.

As far as people who can use magic, wizards generally are on the top tier. There are some clans of fairies or demons and the like that can out-power us, but they keep to themselves.

[And this time it's a Mojito that's given to her.]

Plenty of demons here as you saw. As for fairies... Well, there used to be fairies.

"Used to be"?

It's what it sounds like. We don't where they are, we don't know if some other force drove them away... the only proof of their existence is the few enchanted artifacts left over from their culture as well as areas where they used to settle.

[Finishing off her second drink rather quickly.]

Indeed.

You're not much of a drinker are you?

[spellbent]

Not really. I notice you are, though.

[recluserose]

Admittedly it's close to being a bad habit.

[spellbent]

[ he chuckles a little ] Perhaps I shouldn't have offered to feed that habit.

[recluserose]

I'm better at handling alcohol than most people expect.

[And Aiden speaks up if only briefly]

That's what they all say. [She shoots him a look.

Shush.

[spellbent]

[ He jabs a thumb in Aiden's direction ] Well, if he cuts you off, he cuts you off, but until then, it's my treat.

[recluserose]

I'll hold you to that then. [She-- actually smiles. Kind of. Sort of. Could be the alcohol. Holds up her empty glass]

Another one please.

[spellbent]

[ He smiles back. He actually... sort of likes her, and that's rare for him. Eventually he polishes off his drink and orders another one. ]

[recluserose]

[And they're both served their drinks-- she's focused on her glass, but speaks up again]

You asked how I got so powerful right?

[spellbent]

[ he blinks a could of times, slowly shifting his gaze to her ] ... I did.

[recluserose]

Do you think it would benefit you in anyway if I told you? Especially knowing how magic works differently for us?

[spellbent]

Very likely not, but I guess I won't know unless you tell me.

[recluserose]

Well, it's a story I'll save for another day then. You seem like a patient person, it'll sound better later.

[Haha she's totally just jerking him around]

That's not fair. All that buildup for nothing?

Not exactly nothing. I did say I'd tell you.

Here, how about you answer a question for me at least. Who taught you how to use magic?

[spellbent]

[ something in Warren's expression changes slightly. He gets a little... distant. ]
