[It was another night in the town of Blackgale, with no moon in sight to set the dark sky aglow amid the blanket of stars. The lack of moonlight, however, was not stopping the local (and only) witch, Amelia Steinbeck, from doing a much needed patrol for this particular night. After all, when a demon from the darkest realm from who knows where comes to ones doorstep with the intention of murder, there's probably others lurking around.

That wasn't going to do, not at all.


Of course, she had to be at school soon for an early morning meeting... But hey, it's high school and she was always on time no matter what, thanks to magic. And thus, Amelia began to wander around in the streets, with a green flame flickering in one hand-- only visible to her, other magic users, and a magnet for more demons.

I can think of at least one person who would come knocking at my door, and he's someone I would rather not have to deal with while I've got company.

[ Ah, right. Food. He'll place his order. Perhaps ask for a bottle of wine if they do that kind of thing here. ]

[And indeed there is delicious wine and Amelia places her order too]

[ Once the waiter departs, Warren regards Amelia for a long moment ]

[Makes a choking noise]

I thought this was just going out with an acquaintance whom I haven't seen in ten years. Calling it, much less, wanting it to be a date would be too early.

But I like you. I like a lot of people, but you just happen to be one of them.
